Bottom line, we can either have...

Player X (i.e. whoever we receive via TA Sign and Trade)
&
Daniels

OR

TA
&
Vet. Minimum Player

In that scenario I much rather have the Daniels tandem.

What makes you think that we can get anything of value in a S&T for TA when he wont get more then the MLE and he is unrestricted. If a team wants him, why wouldn't they just sign him? What do you think we would be able to get in return?

Take the Heat for example. They are said to have shown interest in TA and don't have the MLE to work with because they renounced the majority of their players and are below the cap. If they re-sign Wade and also acquire a couple of max player deals they will have no cap room in which to sign TA. Therefore, depending on their level of interest in TA and how much they value Beasley, a S & T deal would make sense for both teams.

Or how about Phoenix for Barbosa? He has been on the market for some time and now supposedly we inquired about him. If the Suns think that TA, who would excel in their uptempo system, could be the perimeter defender that allows them to get past the Lakers wouldn't that be something that they at least consider? We could do a S & T of TA for slightly over 4M and include the two non-guaranteed contracts of Lafayette and Gaffney, who immediately get released, to nab Barbosa. This would also allow them to save about 3M, the difference between TA and Barbosa deals.
