As for a big, one guy I would keep in mind is Erick Dampier. He's got a partially guaranteed contract, meaning he's probably going to be dealt to a team looking to save money or clear cap space.

When he gets released, we could offer him serious minutes on a championship contending team, while Perkins rehabs.

But is he worth the MLE he will probably command?

If Perk is out for a good portion of the season, yes.
If Perk is back early and strong, no.

MLE: no. And I don't know if he would necessarily command full MLE money.

We don't have LLE, unfortunately, since we used it on Marquis this past year. So it'd have to be vet minimum money.

We'd have to sell him hard on the culture of the franchise and his opportunity to contribute. Might be wishful thinking.

While that would be nice, I could see to many title team looking for a big man jumping at him.

Imagine how good he would be for a team like Atanta that could not defend Howard?

I think Atlanta is going to be a 7th/8th seed or possible lottery team this year. No Joe, rookie head coach, Bibby running on fumes.

Very true.

I am not sure I consider us a contender for next season. We already had a tough time mustering up energy in 4th quarters this season. Another season won't help that.

Ultimately, we don't know who will be on the team next year. Coaching is also a big question mark.

This Celtic team is easily still the best in the East, and only 5 points shy of winning the whole thing.

KG of the regular season in 10-11 will be better than KG of the 09-10 regular season. His leg got better and better every month.

All this team needs is a couple more young legs to help maintain minutes and play more competitively when 1-2 of our starters go down here or there.

This is what I'm thinking too. People want to blow up a team that was 5 points shy of winning a championship?

Orlando and the New Lebronnettes are likely the only teams to contend for the Eastern title next year, with Miami possibly in the mix as well. Chemistry and defense are essential to contending teams, and we have both.

Danny will need to be very smart with the draft and free agency, but he can easily bring back the core of this team (starting five, Tony, Nate, and Davis) before using any of the MLE.

The window is still open.

I don't want the team to be blown up.

I want the team to improve for another run.

There is a downward trend being shown by key offensive players.  They need someone to be what those guys used to be.

What would you do if you were Danny, wdleehi?

I agree, the East is still wide open.
