Do you remember that team of old vets that just stumbled into the playoffs. They were old and they looked it. But they beat a much more talented and younger Lakers team that year and it was due in large part to the great Garden crowd! That old building was deafening this new one should be too! Come on playoffs!!!

  • Rondo = Good
Please, enough of the comparisons.  This is not 1969; the league is very different.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
They had heart...and they knew what that jersey represented.  This year's group has forgotten that...

There have been several threads about this (and this is the first one that I've stumbled across).  However, despite the fact that I was using this as a rallying call like many others, I'm now thinking the comparison isn't all that spot-on.  While it's certainly way too early to count our chickens, with the '69 Celtics it was pretty clear that it was the team's last hurrah. However, after going 12-5 in the playoffs so far, this team looks like anything but on it's last leg.  Right now, win or lose, next series, it looks like this team has a good 1-2 years left of contending.

And unlike the '69 C's, our defensive stalwart isn't retiring after this year.
