Perhaps a better question is: What if they start throwing double and triple teams with Lebron included on him to get the ball out of his hands?

Rondo has eyes on the prize. But can he outsmart the Caveliers coaching staff when they try to take him out of the game? Can Ray and Paul help out with play making and added open looks?

And leave two people open that Rondo can pass to? Pierce wide open lanes to the basket? Me likey! 8)

I say NO. The guy actually claims to prefer passing over shooting. I believe him. I think most people would be surprised to find how rare a trait that really is in a PG. He mentally strong and focused and sees a much bigger picture than most guys do. Part of that bigger picture is to really appreciate the over-used, but no less meaningful, truism: There's no I in TEAM.

Doesn't mean Rondo will play well in game 5, but he's not going to let game 4 get to his head...

I think the bigger question in this thread is how "historic" was the game?  I'm not trying to take anything away from him: he was brilliant.  However, outside of a few extra rebounds (some of which were 50/50 balls between himself and his teammates) how is this any different than what he did in games 1 and 2 and many other games this season?

I think if anything would've gone to his head, it would've gone a long time ago.

Rondo becoming a legitimate threat has made this team into a contender. They become rediculously versatile offensively if he is attacking.

I hope he doesn't take his foot off the gas, but his production might go down due to the extra attention he will be getting.

It's up to the rest of our scorers to help him out and force the Cavs to re-adjust.

However, as always, if we are defending and getting stops then there is no way to slow Rondo down.

He's had a bunch of excellent games in his playoff career.  It can only go to his head in a good way.

no, he's already a guy with a lot of confidence, but one game won't go to his head.  I think he's already saying all the right things about the next game:

Quote
“It really doesn’t matter about the matchups,” Rondo said. “For me, I don’t really care who’s guarding me. I’m still going to try to run the offense in our system. If we get easy looks in transition, it doesn’t matter who’s guarding me getting back on defense, but if we’re running our sets and our offense through Paul [Pierce], Ray [Allen], and Kevin [Garnett].”
