Was just looking at some stats on ESPN. I knew they were struggling on the boards, but that is just horrible. Hard to win games when you cant score or rebound.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Rebounding, turnovers and shooting drought are three things which kill us.

I think we are slowly showing some improvement in regard to the TOs.

Now we can help our shooting drought if we grab some offensive rebounds and get some second shot opportunities.

Really wish KG was the rebounding king like he was a few years ago. He used to grab every defense board available. I just people would body other guys up cause we aren't out jumping any teams

Boston ranks 24th in rebounding differential + tied 23rd in rebounding rate.

I think those are more accurate figures than total rebounds because they account for pace/possessions. Boston ranks lower in total rebounds because they play at a slower pace.

Anyway, the point stays the same, the rebounding is clearly poor and a massive problem for the side.

Yeah as you said it is still really bad and a major problem. I don't have that much of an issue with our offensive rebounds but with the ones we give up. I get nervous that we aren't going to get the defensive rebound off a missed free throw. That's when you know it's bad

I think it's an effort thing as well.  When you have KG, Perk, Sheed, Davis, Pierce, and heck even Rondo who is an excellent rebounder for a point guard...you should NOT be anywhere near the bottom of the league in rebounding.

Combination of bad luck with how the ball bounces and just lack of effort and hustle.

Wow, I can't believe we've gotten so low. Seriously, we shouldn't be there. We have guys who could do that, and we're down to the 29th? Rebounding has been on of the many things that have kept us from winning games... It needs to change.
Yeeeaaaa!!!

This is a horribly misleading stat and should not be taken seriously.

Celtics are 11th in the league in Defensive Rebound %, which is pretty good.

We are horrible at offensive rebounding %, though, at 28th in the league.

Michael Finley is nice. Nate Robinson is as well. Those guys will help our offense. But rebounding is something we've had difficulty with ever since KG went down with his injury. Before that we were doing fine.  I was hoping we'd get a guy like Drew Gooden from the Clips personally on a buyout.

Also, Doc needs to emphasize to Nate to look for his offense as well. He's had some nice games in his short tenure, but I saw him pass the ball up to Big Baby one too many times for jumpers instead of looking ot initiate his own offense.
