Jamison got hurt in tonight's game... looks like the injury bug has finally left Boston and found it's residence in Cleveland.
How serious is his injury?

Not very serious. He will most likely play on Friday. It also helps that they don't have any other game untill then.

He had some knee stiffness.  It has happened a couple times this year.  He should be fine by Friday.

The Cavs won last night without Shaq, Lebron, Z and Jamison (for almost the entire second half).

They were playing Delonte West, Mo Williams, Jawad Williams, JJ Hickson and Varejao in the fourth quarter.  They played very well together.
Even then the Spurs had a very poor game last night. They got very little out of most of their bench and team.

You can qualify it however you want.  :)  The fact is that the Cavs won using their bench as their starters.

You can say they got little out of their bench, I can say that the Cavs played great defense.

I just can't believe they won the game without Lebron- geez...

No Lebron, No Shaq and No Jamison for most of the game and they beat a Parker-less Spurs squad. Still, very surprised that the Cavs would win without their main guy and two other key guys.

Isn't saying the Cavs won without Z sort of like saying the Celtics won without Eddie House at this point. Technically he's he's not on the roster because they trade him.

Anyhow...It's a good win down 2 and a half starters against any team.
Yup

I wasn't trying to qualify it so much as say I'm shocked the Spurs played so poorly (last night and in general), especially down the stretch.

SA is going to give someone a tough 6 game first round series and then be out.

This thread has taken a detour but this game should dispell the notion that the Cavs do not have any quality NBA players outside of LeBron and maybe Mo Williams. A team full of role players, shooters, and solid defenders can win a game on any night in this league.

The spurs have been pretty off most of the year. They played well decent after a really slow start. However, the last few months they have been veyr avearage. Ginobli has simply not been the same player he used to be and may be declining fast. Parker has been beat up and Jefferson does not seem to have fit in as well as they would have hoped. I would never count out Duncan, but at this point they may not make the playoffs.

They don't have all that much quality without LeBron, he's just the best player in the league by such a wide margin.

They'd be a bottom lottery team in the east without him, he's that good.

A part of that is roster construction, you build to match talents around LeBron. They just don't have an upper level player other than him. AV is their second best player and he is, as Who said at some point, an elite role player.

This is very wrong, but I am not going to sit here ad try to defend the Cavs.  Thinking the Cavs couldn't beat teams like NY, NJ, WASH without Lebron is comical, but to each their own.

I am not trying to take anything away from Lebron. I am just tired of the notion that Cleveland is Lebron and a bunch of scrubs. They have great role players on that team and nearly all of them can defend (except Jamison).

None of them is an all star player any more (maybe Jamison ironically), but they all can play basketball at a high level. What they dont possess is another elite scorer and playmaker. In that regard, you are right LeBron is that good where he can be the only scorer and playmaker on a great team.

However, if you take him away IMO that team could be competitive for a .500 record. They would stil play solid defense, and shoot the ball very well.

It makes me really curious. I want to see a few more games without LeBron (but with jamison).

I thought the Cavs were a 35-40 win team without LeBron James prior to the Antawn Jamison trade.

Not sure if they're better or worse off following the deal. I thought their defensive ability + rebounding ability would have won them a considerable amount of games. Even with a pathetic offense.

Jamison puts a lot more pressure on their defense. I'm not sure his positive offensive contributions are more than the negatives defensively in this situation. I greatly dislike that Mo + Jamison + Shaq/Z trio defensively particularly when they'd only be left with a mediocre wing defense at that time. That roster would be very difficult for Mike Brown to turn into a very good or better defensive squad. I think that LeBron James hides, or will/should hide in time, a lot of Jamison's flaws defensively + scoring efficiency and go-to scoring/playmaking ability.

The Cavs might be worse with Jamison if LeBron wasn't on the court. I'm not sure but I certainly think it's a legitimate possibility.
