What a hypocrite Rivers is for commenting after the Payton episode.

Stupid, sleazy rule that should be fixed.  Any idea above would at least curb this.

  Stern doesn't have time for this nonsense. He needs to review every play of each Cavs and Lakers game to make sure that Kobe and LeBron got the proper amount of calls in their favor. Maybe he'll look at it in the offseason.

You could throw Pierce into that mix.  He gets every bit as many calls as Kobe with his upfake and jumping into the defender.  Also the gazillion travels Paul gets away with.

clearly u didnt read the part where Doc says "we did it back then." i mean maybe u should check the quote before posting... and if u think pierce gets as many calls as kobe and lebron then you are clearly smokin crack while watchin the C's. For instance with our last possession last night in LA. Paul clearly was fouled but the refs were swallowing the whistle, as is the case whenever we face an elite team, and the Lakers got the ball. Thats why Im glad the lakers got screwed with that timeout right after it. And I laugh in the face of any laker fan saying they got screwed over last night.

LA could have called a time out right away. all the players should have know to call it. It shouldn't have had to come from the bench were it wasn't seen right away. Lakers were given that game in every way but still couldn't take it. 25 to 13 foul shooting and we drove and were fouled plenty. Just no calls. How many times do you get to hit KG before he gets a call? Does Pau hitting KG on the way down the court make it a foul on KG? KG's knew nick name should be " The Big Pinata". The Refs tried to hand the game to LA but they couldn't take it. They were too busy ( Lamar Scrotum) taking bows for dunking over a guard and having these big smiles before the game was done. They knew the Refs were trying to hand them the game and they thought that would be enough. The Cavs also had that game handed to them but couldn't make foul shots or any shots at the end. That was the longest 2 seconds I've ever seen, when LeBron bobbled that ball.... Sometimes you need more than the Refs sometimes you need heart. Last nights games showed that. The better teams won both games.

I don't think this rule is a big deal. We're generally only talking about mediocre or worse role players who are heading towards the end of their careers.

If they want to change it, fine. If they want to leave it alone, fine.

I don't think it's an important issue.

Jamison is as old as KG. Why is KG old but Jamison is an Allstar pickup? When was the last time Jamison was an allstar? He's looking pretty old tonight.

i think it should be built into the next CBA that if a player is traded and then returns (30 days is fine by me) that he should be forced to take a MAJOR salary reduction by coming back to his traded team (I don't know what that percentage is, but make it sizable).

What this does is cause that player to think long and hard before returning to the team that traded him.  It does not punish the rest of the teams who can pick him up (and I have no problem with that being the remaining of his pro-rated salary).  The team that traded him now has to consider the repercussions of trading away a player they want back because he may not want to return at a lowered pay, when the other NBA teams can pick him up for his full salary.

I have no idea what the current rule is (regarding salaries of traded players who are re-claimed or picked up by another team) but the only way to change the current system is to PUNISH the team who trades him and punish the player ONLY if he chooses to return to that team...  I can see no other way around this...
