I've seen Martin play and unlike Ray, Martin can create his own shot when he has the ball in his hands. He also shoots a great mid-range jumper.
Has everyone forgotten that Ray was horrible in almost every playoff game the past two years? I'm serious, outside of 1 LA (which was a blowout anyway) game and those Chicago OT specials, he was well below his average. In fact during our championship run he almost cost us the Atlanta & Detroit series'. And against Orlando last year (which we lost in 7..).. he was bad. Am I the only one who remembers this?
Are you kidding? Ray was absolutely useless in the Cleveland series but he saved us in the Detroit series, and we would never have won the championship if he didn't play great against the Lakers like he did (he shot 50% from 3 in that series, was the player who made big buckets in the game 4 comeback and played all 48 minutes of that game), because KG was playing like crap and Pierce was inconsistent.
Ray deserved MVP considerations for the Finals, so you really must have a short or biased memory...
He also saved us in the Bulls series. I agree he was not very effective in the Orlando series but he was dealing with a hamstring and Orlando did a great job defensively on him (like Cleveland in 2008).
