I've been pushing for this trade for at least a month now, lol. Would love to have Sessions - I honestly don't know why Minny signed him in the first place and drafted two PG's. Its so confusing.

But Sessions in green would be nice. He's 6'3" (a bit taller than Rondo) so he can play in the backcourt with Eddie at the 2 guard.

MAKE IT HAPPEN DANNY!!!!

Now comes word that KG, PP, Daniels, Rondo are all out. Why not make the trade now since we are getting even more deparate for contributors and healthy bodies?

He's not a 2 guard, he shoots 20% from three for his career (14% this season) and if you're proposing he should play point guard, then your height argument makes isn't relevant.

Either way, we're not getting Sessions so this thread is pointless. Sorry to be a wet blanket.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Eddie can play the 2 guard with Sessions playing the point on offense. And it makes sense from a defensive stand point, If Sessions & House play in the same backcourt, naturally it would be much better if Sessions defends the bigger guard and Eddie defends the point.

My understanding is we have expiring contract exceptions and they are use-or-lose after 1 year, correct? Let's not leave trade value on the table plus we need to improve the roster. We have a need for backup PG. Sessions is on the trade block.

Respectfully, and just curious for no other reason, why are you so sure we aren't getting Sessions? Appreciate your post and information.

Are we looking at other backup PG or other trades? Hate the idea of us sitting back, watching players sit out due to injuries, lose playoff seeding, when we could make trade(s) now, get those players on the court, salvage some games & playoff seeding, all in an effor to win it all this year.

Unless Ainge has some fetish for point-guards that can't shoot, I can't see how would Sessions suit the Celtics.

I'm not a fan of Sessions - extremely ball dominant, terrible shooter, mediocre defender, mediocre on the open court, one trick pony (high ballscreen -> penetration -> dish/kick out/finish/draws foul). He has a better reputation than this and his contract is relatively cheap, so I don't see the Wolves trading him for expirings in any case. They're taking in salary to add very mediocre players, why would they dump Sessions?

He would be the perfect fit.  His game is similar (but slower) to Rondo so we know he would fit the offense.

And since it would not cost the team House, they would still have the same level of outside shooting coming off the bench.

Is Ramon Sessions on the trading block? If so, what are we waiting for assuming the price is right. Even if he's not the greatest we could desparately use a backup PG.

If he is available, snatch him Ainge.

Here is my idea

Boston trades TA, Scali, JR, 1st, trade exception and Cash

for

Sessions, Gomes, and Jawai (trade exception)

Boston adds two strong bench players at reasonable contracts for the next few seasons.

Minn gets another 1st to help rebuild around Flynn and Jefferson

Minn save money this year (about 1.2 in less salaries and tax plus 1.4 million with the TE and tax)

Minn saves money next year with Scali, JR and TA off the books (though I would not be surprised if TA starting there earns another small contract)

The money sent can be used to buyout Scali, who can then return to Boston when the Celtics waive Jawia.

Doable, TP. They don't get talent back. But since they are rebuilding a 1st round pick goes a long way. And CASH!!!

On that team, TA starting is talent back.  (he is a decent to good player as a starter, terrible to awful as a bench player)

Well, he could fill in when Rondo is out (like right now)

Otherwise, he is the backup PG allowing House to play SG.

Sessions+House would be too much of a defensive liability. I don't like Eddie House paired with another PG, won't work. And what would you do with Daniels? In the playoffs, we need 2 backcourt players off the bench. Sessions+Daniels won't work, because with Rondo you already have 3 backcourt players in the rotation unable to make a shot.

In any case, it's a moot point, Sessions is in a very club-friendly contract and Minny won't trade him for whatever we have to offer them.
