Caron butler has become available it seems, in rumors saying the Heat and Bulls are interested in him. I did a trade in real gm with Scal, Tony, Daniels and J.R. and would have to throw in a future 1st round pick but it worked! lol of course this would never happen but hey why not make the call. They said they want to throw in Mike James hefty contract which i think expires this year but that would be the perfect guy to come off the bench, and could start next year for us. Well really bored and just wondering what everyone would think of that or the idea of Caron even coming to boston?! What do you think?!

Not knowing him statistically and having seen him a few times, I get the vibe hes not the most efficient player around. I dont know what option he'd be on a championship caliber team.

If we were playing in a fantasy league, I'd do this in a heartbeat. But seeing as this would be in real life, I'd rather pass up on this one. We have other bigger needs in the other positions like backup PG and adding Butler would not address those needs. Besides, if we had our full roster today I don't think this conversation would even exist.

This guy is a Paul Pierce close-as-it-gets-replica, so I'm down with the trade in the first post.

You lost me with the first-round pick.

if mike james contract expires this year washington wont want to give it up, especially since all were giving them is expirings and garbage.

im all on board for getting Butler on this team.  his plays dropped off a bit this year but i dont think it's permanant.  that said.  as bad of shape as washingtons in right now, theyd laugh at this deal.  theres much better dealas thatll come up for butler.

I'd do that in a heartbeat, and the first round pick is no big deal since it's won't be very high anyway.  That said, there is no way the Wiz do this.  They would want a real player, not 5 random pieces of poop.  The trades that include Ray Allen to get Butler are much more realistic.

To get Bulter, the Celtics will have to part with Ray.

Just dreaming here: Ray+Scal for Butler+Jamison.

PP moves to SG, Jamison starts.
Butler is first off the bench and plays with a lineup of House, Daniels, Sheed and BBD.

What's in it for Washington?  expiring contracts plus Bird rights on Ray.

... Washington can get more for Butler+Jamison, but fun to think about.
Celtics fan for life.
