Let's sign him to the minimum then.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I am not saying he will sign with the Celts for the MLE. I am dreaming of him being on the Celts which is nothing but that, a dream.

However, what he says about taking less than a max deal is relevant. It could possibly make the now short list of teams that could sign him a little bit longer if he is willing to make concessions in his salary. If he takes 12 million in his first year for instance rather than the 16 he would get in a max deal, I think a couple more teams with an established core would be in play for him.

Every time I think about this, I just don't see him staying in Cleveland. He's too into himself to stay in Ohio. His personality reminds me of Magic Johnson: he will find the spotlight in NYC or LA(Clips).

There's a bunch of stuff we don't agree on FSH but this is definitely not one of them. TP. Couldn't agree more.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I would trade our whole team for Lebron. I mean, I would like to see this year play out, but after this year, I would literally trade our whole team for a young superstar/legend who is just getting started. With only average players (at best) alongside him, the Cavs have been an elite team for years.

No, he isn't my favorite player, by any means, but I don't want the Celtics suck again anytime soon and having this guy would prevent this from happening...I know it is impossible and I know it makes a lot of people happy that he will never be here in Boston, but I hope that means there is a better plan than Rondo and Perk after the big three are gone.

I don't think Lebron will stay in Cleveland.
I hope he goes to LA, that would be the best scenario for us, so he could smile for his poster shot in another 40 point loss.
LeBron is not coming to Boston, never will, unless it is his last year or two in the league, and we don't want him.
Nobody in their right mind who roots for the Celtics would ever want Lebron on this team.
In my opinion Dirk Nowitzki, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul, Brandon Roy, are all on LeBron's level.  You can say LeBron is better than those guys but not by much.
LeBron is too clumsy to be a Kobe or an MJ. He doesn't have the skills to take over a game late with mid range jumpers.  What he does is when there is a breakaway he puts more effort into the slam dunk.  Or when he makes a pass he throws his arms extra after the pass and makes it look fancy by his reaction after the pass.
Now there are two ways of looking at that.   Ray Allen can have a breakaway and make a simple layup.  LeBron can do a 720 slam dunk.  Either way it is 2 points.   Nowitzki can make a nice pass and make it look routine, or Lebron can throw it extra hard and react more after the pass, either way it is 2 points.
What I'm saying is that for highlight reels, endorsements, and possibly fan interest Lebron is the best, but as far as playing basketball with relation to the other Top 10 guys in the league he's not really any better than them.  So if you want LeBron so much you should want the other Top 10 guys in the league as much because basketball wise the other guys are just as good.
