Three of our first four opponents were playoff teams last year and more than likely will be this year. And yet, our minutes for our starters are not even close to being excessive. If before the season started people were told that after playing Cleveland, NO and Chicago and Charlotte and being 4-0 that our starters would be averaging

Ray 36+ MPG
Pierce 32+ MPG
Rondo 32+ MPG
KG 29+ MPG
Perk 26+ MPG

would you believe that people would be complaining about people playing too many minutes?

Yeah, me either.

Take note that alot of these minutes are during huge blowouts where Ray was just hanging out in between the three point lines and having fun.

Theres a big difference between competitive minutes and blow out minutes where your out there with Hudson and Giddens chillin'.

Yep, that's me.  Complaining about too many minutes.
Why? Because I saw the same thing last year.

Look, I am happy about the Ws, but I don't want to see our old players get hurt for playing too many minutes.
But given the level of the competition played, the fact that Scal and Tony Allen have both been unavailable and that the only player with even close to big minutes(sorry 36.75 MPG is not a lot. If Ray averaged that for the year that's not a big deal.)has asked to play longer minutes on one night to get his legs under him, you really think you are being fair in your criticism?

I think anyone complaining of minutes given the circumstances and the results is just being unreasonable.

Chalk me up as unreasonable.

Ray should not play more than 35 mins a game.  I am not talking averages.  Especially, Ray shouldn't play 35 mins a game in a blowout.  Maybe I am just still peeved that he played close to 40 mins in the Charlotte game.

Harping on minutes might seem like small potatoes, but I seriously worry about the Celtics over the course of an 82 game season.
When do we start to worry about the minutes played?  When do we start to call out Doc?  Clearly some people think we shouldn't worry about it after 4 games.  Should we wait for 10 games?  Or is that too few?  Should we worry about it after 25?  No?  Then how about 40?  I don't know what the magic number is, all I know is what I see, and so far, Doc has over-played Ray.

Good win. I liked the execution down the stretch but the defense definitely took a nosedive tonight. I hope they can tighten that up for their little road trip.
Someone needs to start a Pierce Dunkwatch.
I like the Rondo/Paul matchup. They are 2 or the smallest PGs out there but so feisty and fearless.
My binkie Sheldon is still looking solid. He caught another great pass tonight. Baby steps.
I hope Peja can keep this up to help the team. Watching the Hornets backslide last season was sad.

Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Are we having the Ray Allen minutes fight again?  I can't wait to see what the threads look like when we actually lose a game or two.

Not the best game, but gave us some crunch-time reps and we were clearly the better team.  All is well.  Today is a good day to be a Celtics fan.  Tomorrow's looking pretty ok too.  :)

Not including tonight he has 3.  One more tonight?

Anyhow...I love the CBS Dunko-Meter

Well, I didn't admit I was being unreasonable.  Not sure about you, but last year, I witnessed Doc overplay his starters.

In any case, I am happy for the W, of course, but I hope that going forward we see Doc keep the starters minutes down, even if it means a loss here and there.  Home court means nothing if we have injured or tired starters.

36 min is basically saying Ray is sitting a quarter per game. Like I've said before, that doesn't include 20-second timeouts, full timeouts, TV timeouts, end of the 1st and 3rd quarters, and half time. 36 MPG is NOT too much time for Ray, especially how he keeps himself in shape.

I don't care if nickagenta found you saying that you were being unreasonable. You're being close to me. If nothing else, you're knee-jerk reacting to what happened to KG, even though it's been said numerous times that KG had those spurs in his knees since the beginning of the season.

Injuries don't come off of virtually playing only 3 quarters a game instead of 2 quarters and 8-10 minutes.
