Home court is important.
However, as last season taught us, health is more important than home court.

Well, yes, we lost game 1 against Chicago at home. But where did we win game 7?

Health is more important than Home Court, but only if the person who gets injured is a starter.

The year we won the championship, we won it because of Home Court. Its pretty [dang] important.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I'm not at all amused with Rajon today.  Usually I'm his biggest fangirl, but don't trash talk a guy after a game (when you should be shaking his hand) when you've been outplayed by him all night.

Disagree with that completely, i don't want anybody kissing anybody's anything. I want Perk to hate DH and get in his face, i want Rondo to get into it with CP and tell him how he's not leading the league in assists ever again.

Thats called being a competitor. Us against the world attitude is what wins championships... not being best friends with all the superstars.

I agree with you up to a point-I want him to be a competitor during the game and make his point with his play.  Not to act unsportman-like after you've already won.  But that's really just a stylistic difference between us I suppose.  :)

He dropped 10 dimes on him, had more steals, and shut him down for the whole first half. CP3 HAS to score 20 for his team to have a chance, could not score at all and be fine. It's no unsportsman-like either... CP3 was over in our bench and was being pulled away by HIS teammates.

ooh new angle shows it, but you don't know what was going on out there throughout the whole night.

I hate bringing this up, but Ray Allen's minutes are a problem.

I've got no problem if he's playing 38+ minutes in close games.  It's when he's doing that when the team is winning by 30 that bugs me.

I still have a problem with Ray or Paul playing +++ minutes even in close games. I remember at least a couple games last year where the Cs would be way down, Doc would keep Paul and Ray in and then the score differential would shrink, but in the end the opponent would win.  And Ray and Paul would have played 40+ minutes (this happened with at least one Orlando regular season game).

I think that Ray and Paul and KG need to be kept to a certain number of mins per game no matter what when we are talking about regular season.

You do realize that he's been playing 34 minutes per game entering this game right?

He's quite fine, particularly early in the season. Come back when it's April or so.

Yeah, I can read the summary stats on yahoo just like everyone else.

I dont like that the fact that the Cs have played Ray Allen close to (or more than) 40 minutes a game in 3 out of the 4 games this season.

Call me a worry wart, but, like last season, I worry that Doc is overplaying his main players.  Thankfully, because of M. Daniels, Pierce is playing less than last year.  I just wish that Doc could see the light and play Ray a few less minutes, and put more faith in his bench players, or, more to the point, take a loss if it means preserving his main players for the playoffs.

Lest anyone forget, the goal is not to get home court advantage, nor beat the Bulls 72 win record, but to win a NBA championship.

Home court advantage is a HUGE deal in the hunt for a championship. a HUGE deal.

Didn't we lose game one against the Bulls AT HOME becuase KG wasn't there... i'd say that being healthy in the playoffs is what matters.

I don't understand your point, X. Are you arguing with me?

well i'm not trying to single you out, but i don't think Home court is nearly as important as everyone says it is.

Normalize to what?

Ray is averaging 37 MPG and just about everyone else is under 33.

Ideally we'll have our cake and eat it too...Just keep playing hard and smoking the teams we're supposed to and the minutes will be well under control and we'll have homecourt throughout.
Yup

I see it that way too, but if it comes down to resting guys at end becuase of small injuries i'd rather do that then go for the home court.

Three of our first four opponents were playoff teams last year and more than likely will be this year. And yet, our minutes for our starters are not even close to being excessive. If before the season started people were told that after playing Cleveland, NO and Chicago and Charlotte and being 4-0 that our starters would be averaging

Ray 36+ MPG
Pierce 32+ MPG
Rondo 32+ MPG
KG 29+ MPG
Perk 26+ MPG

would you believe that people would be complaining about people playing too many minutes?

Yeah, me either.

im not complaining about the minutes i just think ray has more minutes than the rest. 37 is ok, 36 much better. i just think ray and pp's minutes are usually not apart.

Yep, that's me.  Complaining about too many minutes.
Why? Because I saw the same thing last year.

Look, I am happy about the Ws, but I don't want to see our old players get hurt for playing too many minutes.
