  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
These threads confuse me a little. Do you mean who has the 'prettiest' passes or who was the most effective passer?

One thing that drives me nuts about 'big guy' passers is that their best passes come when their feet are cemented to the floor (ie, Divac and Sabonis in the 'centers' discussion). For this reason and many others, Bird is a no-brainer at the top with KG a step behind.

One day Lebron will play the PF spot- when that happens, maybe he will be in the discussion, too.

Gasol maybe when his career is over.

Nonsense.

I see where you are coming from but if a guy is too massive to handle the ball well, but still has the innate court awareness to be a great passer from the post, it is an invaluable skill to have.

For example, just knowing the perfect time to pass out of the double team, which KG always does, leads to great ball movement and a good shot. Shaq also learned this over time.

Larry Bird was Power Forward at the end of his career, therefore I think he is elegible for this thread ;) And thus, Larry Bird is the best passing forward and passing forward of all time for sure

For guys that are strictly PFs, Webber, KG, and Gasol are the best I've seen, in that order.

Every Reggie Lewis highlight reel is made up of him giving it to Mchale in the post then cutting to the basket, Theres alot of good passes there by Kevin.

If that's the case then Magic also played power forward in his last comeback.  I don't think Magic and Larry qualify though.  I think the OP probably meant which career power forward was the best passer ever.

I love McHale, but his teammates called him the Black Hole because they never would get the ball back when they dumped it in to him.

I'm probably biased, but KG is a pretty good passer.  Barkley and Coleman were pretty good too.
