Ellis wanting to go to a contender? What a joke. This guy is full of himself. At this point in his career, he needs to just fulfill his contract.

From a talent upgrade standpoint (and our future standpoint), it really is a no brainer; however, for a championship this year, I stand by Ray. I honestly don't know how I feel about this trade, but I guess if it were on the table, we would have to seriously consider it. Ray is going to be old soon...

I guess at this point in the offseason, I am all set with the 'trade Ray rumors', though.

Why do we want the 2 malcontents of such a terrible team?   


Jackson has never been more then the 4th option on good playoff teams. 


Ellis has never played outside nellie ball (and how many small nellie ball players flop when put into a normal offense?)

I love Ray on our team, but if this trade become an option, Ainge would be dumb not to pull the trigger. 2 reasons.

1.) Ray is still a great player, and there's a chance we won't be able to afford him next year(doubt it, but possible)

2.) Even though 2 of those contracts are huge, Ellis is a very young stud and could be whipped into maturity. And Jackson fills a hole for us and his contract isn't that bad when he could be our starter then.

The other idea is that they make the trade, and Ray agrees to a buyout right away. That would save GS 20+ million over 4 years, and puts them in the market for the free agent frenzied summer of 2010. It also allows us to put our Big 3 back together.

Dreaming? How so? He can shoot. He guards Kobe when they play LA. He guards Dwade when they play Miami. Oh wait, Kobe and Wade aren't SGs are they, IP?

After re-examining this trade, if it had to include Ray, then I'd rather get a 3rd team involved and send Ellis elsewhere for a different player such as Joe Johnson(just rejected long term contract to become free agent again) or Rip Hamilton(Refuses to play backup and has young replacement in BGordon)

I read one earlier post mentioning this would be a 'chemistry killer' for the Celtics.  That's possible - we don't know the
way these guys would mix-in with the core Celtics.

Ellis is a stud, and Jackson plays incredibly hard, Wright was a top pick, but hasn't had the minutes to put up big numbers.  BTW - Wrights apperance reminds me of Mark Blount;

Funny thought, but Wright is better than Blount.

I don't see us doing this deal.   I like Ray too much to do this deal.

Although if I play devils advocate.  Wright would replace Sheldon Williams after 2009-2010; Jackson would be the 7th man
and Ellis would be the starting 2 guard.
