So we spank Stern's Lebron binky and meet the evil Lakers in the Finals.

Celtics win it all in 5, making Kobe cry again.

Rondo is the Finals MVP for number 18.

ESPN stands by and acts incredulous. How can this be?

Rondo is the Final's MVP?

And why not? I think he has an excellent chance at it....provided we are 'in'.
He has a chance.  I wouldn't necessarily say an excellent one.
Depends on who we play. If we're playing against the Lakers, not good. They have too many big shot blockers and that bothers Rondo. Plus they hide Kobe on him and that will hurt the perception.

Now if we play San Antonio, Denver, Dallas, or New Orleans I think that the chances are much higher.
Tony Parker?  Chauncey Billups?  Jason Kidd?  Chris Paul?
I don't think any of those guys will give Rondo an easy time in the finals.  Maybe Kidd because Rondo will probably just blow by the old dude.  His best chances are on Derek Fisher in my opinion.
But my original point was just that I doubt he's gonna play better than KG, Paul, AND Ray.
Some would argue he played better than they did last year in the playoffs. I dont have stats in front of me but if memory serves....there were several near triple doubles and I believe he singlehandedly won a couple of games.

As to the opposition, I think Rondo will hold his own against any of them but clearly he will abuse Fisher and Kidd. They will provide the best chance for him to win it. Billups and Parker will not be able to take advantage like they have in the past. Paul is just flat out dangerous, but I dont see the Hornets in the NBA Finals so why worry? The other thing about this though is that if he has to double off the PG and switch like he has in the past, that can hurt his game.

I just don't think Rondo has proven himself as an MVP-type player on this team.  Those awards just automatically go to KG, Paul, and Ray for me.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I've been calling it for a year now, if we win another championship Rondo is going to win the Finals MVP. It's been said a thousand times.. as Rondo goes, so does the team. I the Finals MVP prediction is especially likely if he puts up numbers like he did in the Bulls series.. Kid's just that good and one day his number is going into the rafters.

Predictions are just that, predictions, with 5% of accuracy I might add. No one know's what can happen durring a 82 games season. The trades, the injuries, chemistry, and then after all that here come the playoffs, and there ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
I believe in this team, I wouldn't change a thing...GO C's  :)
