I find it suspicious that Rondo, in the span of 2 months, developed an attitude problem that is troublesome enough to warrant trade rumors. ::)

What are we going to do if KG doesn't stop banging his head against the goalpad?  and PP?  and BBD?  oh no! the sky is falling.

My guess is if they offer him a 5 year/$50 million contract starting somewhere at $8 million or so with constant raises, he would take it. I think it is a very fair deal for all involved.

nick you got a sick sig
Thanks!! TP for saying so.

The "attitude" problems are nothing new. The media has exaggerated it of course.

My guess is mgt and doc are trying to get rondo to realize if he brings his A game every night he can be a DOMINATE nba player, not just pg.  Larry Bird would be considered an attitude with todays media boredom/lack of quality.
Sign him , he is the future.  Again he's still a kid, lester hudson is older (?).  Only guard I would trade him for even up is Chris Paul.  Rondo at his best makes everyone a better player, rarified air for such a young guy.  I don't care if he's "prickly" "surly" etc etc.  When Pierce, Allen & Garnett have retired it will be Rondo as our superstar.
green kool aid ~ maybe
I have watched the celtics since early 70's or so and he has the potential to be a great point guard! Better than anyone we've had since tiny or jojo.  pay him

i think Rondo's "attitude problem" is vastly overhyped by the media.

that said, if we lose him in free agency, our future looks terrible.

we will re-sign him, make him the face of the franchise, and as the contracts of the big 3 come off the books, we'll still have a dominant center and a ton of cap space to put pieces around the two of them. i hope...

Rondo doesn't need a change in attitude.  Sure, he can mature a little bit, but what guy his age doesn't need to mature a little bit?  What he really needs is to close the holes in his game, and become more consistent, so teams can't gameplan him out of the game so easily.  If he does that, Danny will gladly throw tons of cash his way.

Yeah, I agree with you, there is no attitude problems with Rondo. His cockiness may become arrogance sometimes but overall Rondo is part of our future, it would be foolish to let him go.
