I don't think Bowen has anything left to offer the Celtics.

His days of being a solid defensive contributor are over.
San Antonio would have re-signed him had he had anything more
value to bring to the team.

Pass on Bowen, open up the spot for Bill Walker to show what
he can do.

i don't think bill walker has anything to offer except being a big time jumper....combine walker, giddens and tony into one player then boston would have a guy that could contribute...but they are 3 guys that just dont give the boston bench much of anything

I could never like him. There is a difference between being dirty to get in someone's head (James Posey) and having intent to injure (Bruce Bowen).

So how would you define Rondo grabbing Miller by the face or Rondo throwing Hinrich into the scorerer's table?  Is that just getting into their head too?  What about Bill Sharman throwing punches at Jerry West?  Are we going to romanticize that into "getting into someone's head" too?

I think Danny will make a decision regarding Bowen after the Daniels deal is done. Because at this point we have no idea whether it will be Walker or Giddens or Scal or a combination of them in a deal. I doubt we will sign Bowen if both Giddens and Walker stays there just won't be enough minutes, but again I doubt they will both stay.

i have no problem with bowen getting physical with whomever boston needed him to be. he is a better defender than any of the other 3 "so called" wings (tony, giddens and walker) and at least can hit open shots...we don't even know if those other 3 can do that...

Danny Ainge said yesterday (Globe and Herald) that 'they liked Pruitt, but with Marquis coming Gabe was not going to get a chance to play.' Very clearly then Marquis is coming to Boston to be a point guard and not to back up Pierce. His great height at that position fits well with Doc's likings as well.He plays great there. Eddie will be the off guard . Guess who will back up Pierce? Danny's mother, Tony Allen, Walker, Giddens? Bruce Bowen seems so obvious IMO.

Let's give Danny some slack on his line as the picture is becoming more in focus. He isn't so foolish and we can't sign every chocolate candy out there. Our rivals also are allowed to sign players, not just the Celtics. I just would like to know what salaries Barnes and Moon received.  We have only one LLE and that apparently is going to Daniels or Bowens. I am not sure that signing all these other players was even posssible or that they would want to come to Boston.

Oh, I think Bowen is not a better defender than Moon or Barnes. He is a much better defender IMO, a veteran of 3 championships who is capable of moving over to play as a small power forward as well.Sure, he is slipping now at his age, but he will sub only and let's remember that he is a first team all defensive player many times over. Daniels, at the LLE or in a sign and trade, is a brilliant move. What GM thought of signing him as a point guard other than our own stupid Danny Ainge. Yes Sirree, Danny's head is really buried in a cave somewhere, isn't it?  Good moves, Danny, if this is true. Seven more days left and we will know.

If he comes at the minimum, I'm fine with the move.

Bowen needs to clear waivers first (August 7).

He's lost a few steps but, if he isn't already on his way back to SA then I would sign him for the min or $1 over his best offer.  He can still be useful for 5 or 10 min to play defense and shoot a wide open 3.  I can see inserting Bruce to pester LJ or KB while Pierce gets a few minutes of rest.

Daniels could be the primary backup for both pg and sf. There's only going to be about 10-12 minutes a game behind Rondo. Daniels should be able to play more than that.

I like to think that those were more "in the heat of the moment" ordeals. As for Rondo (since I don't go back that far being 23), a 160 lb guy would really have to hit a 280 lb guy hard to alter a quasi-lay in. Hinrich was jawing at Rondo so he got what he deserved (in my opinion). Bowen stepping under VC, Francis, kicking Amare in the heal, kneeing Nash in the groin, kicking Jesus in the back were done in cold blood, with no waring or provocation. Bruce Bowen...I would find it hard to like him. I hope we don't sign him, even if he makes our team better.

So what? I hope he kicks leBrick, and KoMe in the face. They'll go cry to stern, make him stop. Join the Celtics Bruce.
