I like Barnes. Maybe we'll target him next.

I read the other day that Hill said the hardest thing he ever had to do was yank his kids out of their Orlando home and transplant them in Phoenix...When I read that I felt that to bring him to Boston would be, in Doc's terminology, "a major coup"...Well, he's chosen not to move again...He's chosen his kids over a ring or NYC money and his wife's warbling career...A tip of the hat to him for that old fashion logic.

That being said, I truthfully believe that if he had chosen us, we could have begun knitting banner #18 before the ink on his contract had dried...Too bad, but honorable.

If the Suns trade Ben Wallace for a highly talented player, it may be worthwhile for them to sign these two.

How about Tyson Chandler?

Starters: Nash + Richardson + Hill + Amare + Tyson
Bench: Barbosa + Clark + Frye + Amundson

That team could probably win 55-60 games.

Wow. Frye only got a 1.9 mil per year deal? Interesting. Great to know Scal is making almost double that salary...

At least Cleveland didn't get Frye.

SpearsNBA:

Grant Hill gets 2-year deal with Phx paying $3 million in first year and a player option in second year paying $3.240 million.

Yeah the C's are seriously lacking in big man depth. I would have taken Frye for that little.

Players who played the 4/5
'07/08
Perk, KG, PJ Brown, Powe, Baby, Posey, Pollard
'09/10
Perk, KG, Sheed

you could put Scal on both those lists. Especially if you're including Pollard on the 07/08 list. I know he was techinically signed by the team, but I wouldn't necessarily say he "played the 4/5 in '07/'08."

Either way the championship roster had 4 more options at the 4/5. Long season, you need depth (saw what happened last year). KG is coming off an injury, Sheed is 35 and Perk has a bum shoulder. We need 2 more bigs that can play. I say we sign BBD and someone like Joe Smith and not wait until everyone is gone. Trade Scal/Tony/Giddens/Pruitt for a backup 3.

Pollard never played after we signed PJ that year. None of those guys were nearly as good as Sheed is. We need depth, but we're not going to get great players. Assuming no injuries, how many minutes will be available behind KG/Perk/Sheed? Even if we sign Baby, would he average 10 minutes a game? And the 5th big will play even less. I'd try and get Davis then sign some big (almost and end-of-bench guy) and keep Scal unles a trade comes along.
