Rondo shoots threes at the buzzer becuase its his only option. He's not a good three point shooter AT ALL.
Yes he is.

That might be the first time I've ever seen anybody, here or anywhere else, claim that Rondo is a good three point shooter.

Agreed.  Those aren't just green shades, that's glueing your eyes shut with green paint if I've ever seen it.  (if it's possible to glue your eyes shut with paint)

Yes we are deadly from beyond the arc. Always a threat that must be respected and well protected.

Spurs have:

Finley: .374 career (.411 last season)
Ginobili: .376 career (.330 last season)
Bonner: .409 career (.440 last season)
Mason: .395 career (.421 last season)
Jefferson: .353 career (.393 last season)

That's a pretty impressive 3 pt. shooting lineup, especially if most of them perform closer to last season than their career averages.

Of course you can't forget the Magic:

Nelson: .389 career (.453 last season)
Carter: .376 career (.385 last season)
Pietrus: .354 career (.359 last season)
Lewis: .391 career (.397 last season)
Anderson: .365 career (.365 last season)
Redick: .381 career (.374 last season)
Johnson: .357 career (.391 last season)

They're probably still the most lopsided 3 pt shooting team in the league.  Almost everybody on their team can hit 3s.
The Magic were crazy last year as well with Lee and Alston.
I still thought the 08 Celts were amazing.  Paul, Ray, Posey, House, and Cassel.  All 5 of them were on the floor when we wanted to go small.  And of course we had the Scal.
Don't forget, KG can knock them down when so inclined.  Rondo too, he'd just rather drive or pass.  He only shot .313 last year, but remember he usually only shoots them when the shot clock is empty.
While I do not consider a Rondo a good 3 point shooter, his % is probably lower than it should be because he shoots so few, and many are half court heaves to end quarters.

Where can we get a hot spots breakdown by distance from the rim? It would be interesting to see 3pt% excluding shots over 28 feet, for example.

Gotta love it. The 3 is a scary but the C's will be monsters on the boards now. Rondo's going to have a field day with those long rebounds.
