I have a feeling one little kid's father is going to be mighty unhappy if Big Baby the "savage" heads to Orlando.  ;D

beat me to it!
sometimes you have to bite your lip, exhale and move on.  So, I have.

Mannix was just on with Tanguay--CSN Sports tonight....He only mentioned the part about the C's needing another big man...the other part of my post was from me...sorry for the confusion!

I think they will....unless another team out West gives him the full MLE---I doubt Orlando will---and Ainge won't wanna lose him to either Orl or Clev.

Chris Mannix just stated that even though the Wallace signing was great--the C's NEED another big guy---I highly doubt Danny lets Big Baby go to Orlando---not one of our Conf Rivals...San Antonio, maybe...NO Way do we wanna see Big Baby alongside D Howard all year long, and in the playoffs...no.
I think we all know we need more than KG/Perk/Sheed/Scal, even without Mannix.

No matter how many times we talk about it, waiting to see how things play out is all we can do as fans. Speculating on what teams will offer BBD a contract... well, we might as well guess coin tosses.

As much as I love the fact that the C's got Sheed, this has created a monster.  For the love of God, Gary Tanguay is NOT a good source!  He got lucky, and his hunch was correct, and all of a sudden he thinks he is Chad Ford.  And even if he is getting legit inside information, he destroys it by presenting it in such a condescending way.  He has me hoping that Baby signs with the T-Wolves, just to spite him.
I Prefer Felger over Tanguay anyway the guy is such a Hater but Hilarous to lisen too..

I'm a big Felger fan.  He knows nothing about basketball, but he generally is honest about that.  But while he is often a contrarian, he doesn't make everything about him, the way Tanguay does.
I agree Im a Felger fan as well he is honest and thats what i like in a Reporter thats all you can ask for honesty and give ur Opinions dont Suck up and Felger Deff does not do that i enjoy watching him..

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Here's what the San Antonio Press reports:

Quote
Reports that the Spurs have made Glenn "Big Baby" Davis an offer appear to be premature.

San Antonio contacted the forward's representation last week, but no contract offer has been discussed.

The two sides haven't talked since the Celtics agreed to terms with Rasheed Wallace on Sunday night, a development that appears to make a move to the Spurs more likely for Davis.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Davis is not close to signing an offer sheet with any team.

Celtics restricted free agent forward Glen Davis will likely have to continue to be patient before he learns where he will be playing next season. According to an NBA source this morning, Davis is receiving interest from Boston, San Antonio, Detroit and New Orleans. San Antonio and Detroit are pursuing Detroit free agent forward Antonio McDyess and the team left without McDyess could immediately turn its attention to Davis. While the Hornets are very interested, financial concerns limit them to only a possible sign and trade deal for Davis. With Davis' restricted free agent status in mind, the Celtics are just patiently watching the situation knowing they can match any offer sheet.

Wow, work out a sign and trade to NO and take back Posey. That is a no brainer. I'd take Posey over Grant Hill in a heartbeat.  Then sign Anthony Parker to league minimum and we are done.

I don't think DA wants to be committed to Posey for 3 more years and there's no way we are getting Parker for the minimum. A sign + trade that might work better would be: Davis + Giddens for Butler + 2010 1st round pick (lottery protected).

I thought Danny wanted to do this quickly rather than wait a month or two for another team to sign him to an offer sheet and then match?!

There's not much they can do about it. What they really wanted to resolve quickly was the Sheed situation. Other than that, is hope for Baby to make a decision soon... at this stage of free-agency, all is pretty much in Baby's hands and the Celtics won't bid against themselves.
