I'm fine with a spot-up point guard who initiates the offense and then gets out of the way
Isn't that what Eddie House does?

Which is why I suggested I'd rather have a PG that does the exact opposite.
Eddie could be traded though, or get hurt. I'm okay with Lue being our 3rd PG. We're not going to do much better at the minimum.

The man was playing BEHIND Anthony Johnson last year.  Enough said

Anthony Johnson is still solid though....

Anyway, Lue is a poor man's House. We already have the real deal.  ;D

When it comes to the 3rd string there isn't much out there:
B. Knight
T. Lue
A. Carter
S. Marbury

Pruitt or the new dude are sounding pretty good for the 3rd string position.

Ugh. I think Lue might be my least favorite player in the league...Id rather have Steph play the PG. Id rather have Pruitt play the back up...Actually Id rather have Scal play back up PG over Lue...... (not kidding)

Sorry, i felt like i got half way through this thought... Marbury or Carter could be the best options to ball alongside House. Knight is too small for the C's style of play. And Lue would just be 3rd string insurance.... Yeah, Pruitt or some other young flier might be better as a 3rd string behing Rondo and House.

I still think playing House at the 2 is a mistake except against very small back courts. It kills our defense when teams can put out 2s with any size.

I think Anthony Carter or Flip Murray are the best available choices for the backup point guard, if Eddie has to play the two guard spot.

Besides Marbury and Lue what other veteran backups are available?

Antonio Daniels, Anthony Carter(who I like if we have to choose), Ronnie Price, Brevin Knight. Maybe a few others. Right now I'd rather try to go with what we have internally. All 3 of Paul, Allen, and Hill can handle the ball plus overall we're an excellent passing team. I don't think for the 10-15 minutes Rondo may be off the floor that that's too much to ask.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

No thanks. Wasnt he on Orlando and couldnt get playing time over Anthony Johnson? I am all set. I rather have Hudson or Pruitt over Lue. I dont mind getting a backup PG, at least get one that can bring SOMETHING to our team.

Hill doesn't play for the Celtics.

I'd rather see us offer Tony Allen OR Brian Scalabrine (expiring) along with one of our young G's for Keyon Dooling.   He's big enough to guard most SG's and can play the PG position offensively, which makes him a nice complement to Eddie House in the backcourt.
