If they bring Hill on board, it seems that the green will have extra bodies at the 3 position with needs at pt and center. Scenario that I see happening- Keep either Lester/pruit or sweetney/swfit and then trade 3 expiring contracts for a contract with 2/3 yrs left at the other position. We could get a contributor from a team looking to dump more money for the 2010 fa class. I would love the see sweetney or swfit make the team. If lester or pruit can't get the job done, who do you seeing being a potential trade target for DA.

Yeah if you combine Scal + Tony + one or two of the youngs (Walker, Pruitt, Giddens) I think you can take back a guy making 7-9 mil or so, right?

If Marcus Camby had multiple years on his contract, he'd make some sense.  We had apparently looked at Nocioni last year.  What's our major hole now that we have Sheed?  If Hill is on board too... do we now need to start looking at a backup point guard?

Hinrich?

Offer the expiring contracts to the Knicks for Jared Jeffries and Danilo Gallinari.

What are the Rockets doing?

Trade for Shane Battier.  They can go all-in for the summer of 2010.

Pacers looking to cut payroll?  Tinsley, Tj Ford and Mike Dunleavy are all possibly "bad contracts" that we could trade for.

Joel Przybilla from Portland?

I'm positive we could trade for James Posey from the HOrnets.

Maybe Nick Collison from the Thunder?

Beno Udrih from the Kings?

the rockets have no reason to trade battier for expiring contracts. need to look for role players -- jeff foster, nick collison, diop, nocioni, posey, mo pete, gazduric -- these types of dudes, not players that are actually, ya know, really good. for the record, i'm not a proponant of any of these guys in particular. i'd like jeff foster but don't see why the pacers would do it.

I love TJ Ford but he'd be a terrible fit for the C's.

Remember, it wasn't long ago TJ couldn't accept Jose Calderon starting over him to the point that he just went through the motions on the court.

I posted this a while ago, but it's relevant here:

Giddens' deal is a team option from here out, Walker, Pruitt, Tony and Scal are expiring, as is House now that he's accepted his option.

All together, these players could fetch up to 13.9 million dollars worth of contracts in return in various combinations. The C's wouldn't really miss any of these players if they got value in return; for other teams it would have to be a straight salary dump of players making up to 13 million per year but locked up past next season.

So, what players make 13.9 or less and play for teams that would trade them away to have expiring and cuttable contracts? (it needs to be a pure money move becasue trading 6 for 1 means the team would need to cut some of them).
Possibilities that I could see arising, depending on team finances:

Gerald wallace 9.1
boris diaw 9.0
Diop 6.1
hinrich 9.5
deng 10.4
dampier 10.2
ellis 11
steph jackson 7.7
maggette 9.0
Turiaf 4.2
troy murphy 11.1
Mike Dunleavy 9.8
TJ Ford 8.5
Foster 6.1
Baron 12.1
Kaman 10.4
baron 12.2
bogut 10.0
Charlie Bell 3.6
Dooling 3.6
CHandler 11.9
Posey 6.3
Peterson 6.1
Curry 10.6
Jefferies 6.5
dalembert 11.4
reggie evans 5.0
jason richardson 13.4
Barbosa 6.6
nocioni 7.5
Udrih 6.1
Garcia 5.8
Kapono 6.3
cj miles 3.7

edit:
add:

Collison 6.35
Krstic 5.161
Battier 6.85
Prince 11.63
Hamilton 10.325
Maxiell 5.0

There may be some workable combos there. For example, I think golden state may give maggette away for expiring contracts since they reportedly regret the deal. Would you do scal, tony, giddens and pruitt for maggette? would golden state throw in Turiaf, and do a maggette + Turiaf for Scal, tony, eddie, pruitt, giddens, walker?

Phoenix is looking to cut dough, would they want richardson off the books?

Clippers are rebuilding a bit, would they like to wipe Kaman off the books? Baron?

New Orleans tried to give Chandler away to save money last year, would they do it again? With Shaq out of Phoenix, would a three way be possible in which Chandler goes to PHO, Richardson to boston, and expiring deals to N.O.?

milwaukee's dumping salary and trying to sign sessions, have they soured on bogut?

Will chicago dump hinrich in order to make a big free agent splash to pair with Rose? THey were good last year without Deng, do they regret that contract?

Does rebuilding Sactown really have use for nocioni?

Thoughts...
