if ray is getting traded it would be before the season...his huge contract expiring loses all value once the season gets started. boston isn't going to dump him when they are in the thick of a playoff race in the east...as for rondo...just stupid to trade him when he is finally getting it...

i also think scal and/or tony allen, steph, moore and prolly powe (unless he takes the lowest money around and is saved until the all star break) will be gone. something has to be figured out about walker, giddens and pruitt...either they contribute on a regular basis or cut them loose

but lets look at it this way:

moore is out
steph is out
baby goes elsewhere
eddie goes elsewhere
powe is on the shelf until whenever

that leave giddens, tony, scal and walker on the bench...wow..talk about having to build something very quick.....in my dream world they keep walker, eddie, baby...trade giddens, scal and tony for someone of midlevel quality....release moore, pruitt, steph and pick up mcdyess and someone else

if this trade had gone down i highly doubt i would ever watch basketball again..

The histrionics surrounding these rumors are bordering on the absurd.

Ray has a huge expiring contract and Rondo's value will never be higher. This trade makes our team better going forward. We lose little in our starting backcourt, our defense improves, and our depth dramatically improves.

I also agree. How do the C's not make this trade? Danny needs to think about improving this team not only now but in the future. I would be more than happy with a starting five of Perk, KG, Pierce, Hamilton and Stuckey with Prince coming off the bench. It may also help us land either Sheed or McDyess for cheap.

I dunno though. Now I am having second thoughts about this trade. LOL. See, just like that I can be for a trade but then I have second thoughts when I think about a clutch shooter and top PG walking out the door.

Hmm...nevermind, don't make the trade Danny.

Sorry to waste everyone's time.  ::)
Carl: And, technically, he's supposed to be spayed, and uh, he ain't that. I know that first hand. Go ahead, ask me how I know. Go ahead. Ask me. Ask me how I know.

I sincerely doubt this

Okay so maybe i exagerrated a little but I hate Detroit and all their players. I rather have an aging ray allen and a "selfish" (according to Chad Ford) Rondo than have 3 players i have grown to hate. For me, this would be like the patriots trading Tom Brady for Eli Manning.

just keep the starting five together....add bench pieces and stay healthy.

Exactly.  Keep the best starting 5 in the NBA together.  People can talk all they want about efficiency ratings and age, but you can't argue with results.  Even with KG missing 25 games, this team still won a very impressive 62 games.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

sgree, [dang] this is the best starting 5 in the world. They all have their roles, and chemistry is pretty darn good despite they've all been on the team for only a year a half. Rondo holds the keys to this team. Not touch the "5".

I sincerely doubt Rondo gets traded.

But the hysteria surrounding the notion that he might has been quite entertaining.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Boston offered Rondo-Allen for Rip-Prince-Stuckey.....

...and Detroit said "no".

Sorry everyone but I love this deal for both organizations.
