What makes you think Amare, Nash, and Barbosa would be effective players on a defensive-oriented team like the Celtics?  We'd have to become a much more offensive-minded team to use them most effectively, I think, and that would not make us a better team.

Ray Allen is a terrible defender but looks good in the Rivers/Thibodeau system. I think the defense would go down a bit but nothing the offense would not counter.

I think you underestimate just how terrible Nash is on the defensive end. He is atrocious at this point in his career.

I don't usually slam trade ideas cuz I love discussing them.  But this rondo, ray AND Perk deal is atrocious imo.  Kills the Celtics.  Dead in the water.

Perk must have somehow slipped in people's minds for no good reason.  Unprecedented PG downgrade.  A big with a possible eye problem and injury history who's not a true center.

good point. if nash were starting for the celtics it would be hard to watch for me. i have become used to watching the celtics play great defense.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I saw that segment of PTI and almost lost it...am still puzzled by what Wilbon said.He sounded serious about Nash might be coming to the C's.He did play golf with Doc for a couple days from what i could gather.Maybe Doc told him to throw the public offbase, because Doc himself joked about having a big trade announcement coming soon, but quickly pulled it in .Im not beleving anything in june unless its written in stone.
