The queen of the blues passed away yesterday at 80 years young. Man, heaven must have a smoken blues band. RIP Koko.

I was fortunate to have met and spent time with Koko whenever she came to Boston in the 80's. Not only was she as fine a blues artist as any, she was a truly kind and sweet person who cared for family and friends. She will be missed.
