I don't think the Cavs will offer anybody a full MLE deal, because they'd prefer to preserve their cap space for next summer.
Very true. But will them spending the MLE really handicap them to sign Lebron if they finally win the championship? I'm sure it will put them over the luxury tax, but if they're serious about fielding a competitor they wont mind.

No, they'll be able to re-sign Lebron either way, and won't be close to the luxury tax.
Right now, though, they look like they'll have enough money to re-sign Lebron *and* another max free agent (Wade, Bosh, etc.) If they add any long-term salaries, they could jeopardize that.
