The Celtics have a leadership vacuum in this playoffs.

They have come out flat to often.

There are to many lazy plays out there (passes, rebounds, defense)

There are to many stupid plays.

Who is going to step up and fill the leadership hole that G being out has created?

Until someone does, the Celtics are in serious danger.

To be honest, when the going got tough last year, KG would fade away and Paul Pierce was the guy who we would lean on for leadership.  Where is Paul, that's my question?

Right on.

We're like a solar system without a central sun for the planets to orbit around.  Ticket is over there on the bench, showing off his suit collection.  Rondo is screwing around and playing down to the competition.  Pierce looks injured/exhausted. Doc isn't controlling things; certainly he isn't controlling Rondo.

It's a mess.  And I don't see a fix.  Fire Doc?  No, the Big Three have his back.  Bench Rondo?  No, and then play who?

I just think the guys are tired.  And I don't necessarily mean physically tired.  I think they're emotionally drained.  They played their hearts out to win without KG, and they haven't had much of a break.  They won 62 games this year, but the games were a lot closer.  I just don't think they have much left in the tank.

They certainly need better ball movement on offense.  Doc has improved so much in designing a game winning play, but the offense is stagnant too much of the time. I think these guys are being as competitive as they are based on the talent level and their heart.

Not that I'm writing them off just yet, but I'd like to see a new coach for the offense, resign BBD, trade TA, pick up a player or two and be healthy next year.  I'd also like to see Doc be willing to let bench players play and take their lumps during the season.  You cannot expect guys to sit on the bench for days or weeks and then throw them in for a few minutes and expect them to play at a high level. Not the younger guys at least.

Pierce was the go to guy down the stretch.  He is one of the most unstoppable players when he has it going.  But leadership has never been one of his strengths.

KG was still the leader out there, especially on the defensive side of the ball.  He lead vocally and with his energy play and defense.

There is nothing wrong with Pierce being the best scorer on the team, but not the team leader.

The Celtics just need someone/anyone to step up.

Games last night show the gigantic void left by KG not being on the floor.  This is especially true on D.
