THe general knock on Salmons is that, mentally, he's like Iverson...he needs to start and be an integral part of the offense. As long as that's the case, his attitude is great; ask him to take a backseat and it doesn't work. Thus, talentwise, he's a very good player, which showed up in Sacramento where no one was taking his touches. Chicago was another very good destination for him because they were good because they had a lot of good players, so he was still a primary option. If you put him on a team though that has two or three great players then a bunch of role players (Celtics, Spurs, Lakers, etc.), he's a different person.
Think of it this way. Salmons is a 7 out of 10 talent who needs to play a #1 or #2 role. This is fine on bad teams or even a good team like Chicago, because Chicago is good due to the fact that their entire roster is composed of 6's and 7's (with rose soon to move up the ranks).
The Celtics are more like a 9, 9, 9, 7, 4, 2, 2, etc., so Salmons would be a # 4 or #5 option...not okay for him.
