I don't think his point is very valid. Having John Stockton and David Robinson in there with him doesn't detract from his status.
I think it'll detract from the attention and respect Stockton and Robinson are due. It's pity they had to enter the hall alongside Jordan. They deserve more attention than they're going to get.

Better that then to be passed over for one year.

Having an opinion that differs from normal thought can be a very valuable trait.

But when the only reason you have that opinion is because it differs from normal thought, you don't have a real opinion.

But having an opinion that's normal only because it is normal is also not having one

Uhh well yes, that is true.  But it doesn't apply to Scoop.  Or most of the people who write for espn for that matter.

To deliberately leave out two clearly qualified players because they're not going to get enough attention is much more disrespectful to them than the lack of attention itself.
