I was working that day as a dorm guard at Marquette University, putting myself through college. Had to watch the replay.I recall exactly what the room looked like when someone came racing down the stairs to tell me what happened, and I was getting updates throughout. That was a bummer to miss that one as it happened. Missed the NBA finals that year too

I was at a school function (a game night:  dodge ball and similar games) and a teacher had brought in a TV so we were watching that too.  When the US team won (I didn't know the outcome ahead of time) we all went nuts.

whatever the hell a 7 year old does on a (most likely) cold and snowy day in northeast Ohio...

went to school...helped build a fort during recess...picked my nose a few times...played with my matchbox cars...

my, life was much simpler then...
