Ainge was interested in Dooling a few years ago, so you know Danny likes him as a player. This season in only 26 MPG Dooling is averaging 9.6 PPG, 3.4APG and is shooting 45% FROM THREE POINT LAND He has always been known as a very good defender so he easily fits into the defense end of things. He also allows Eddie House to permanently move over to shooting guard, because Dooling is 6'3 he will be ability to defend shooting guards. After this season Dooling has 2 years at 3 mil per on his contract

I think that Dooling is basically what Gabe Pruitt will become over the next few years a good defender and 3pt shooter, but since we are in the win now mode( the celts probably has 2 more years tops after this year to be contending with the current Big 3) I would be willing to give up Pruitt's potential to make our team stronger this year , so here is the trade...

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=2367~3227~209&teams=17~17~2&te=&cash=

Bos Sends: TA , Pruitt

Bos Receives: Dooling

Also by doing this move the Celts can finally get Bill Walker some playing time against bigger SG's that Dooling is to small to cover . Walker can't be any worse then TA. Walker has the potential and athleticism to be a great defender, something TA really isn't even though he is supposed to be. Walker can also be a spark plug on the fast break.

What do you guys think ?

Maybe they won't do this exact trade , but I think there is some package of players that could get him here without hurting our bench.

a combo of players from this group:

Scal
Ta
Giddens
Pob
Pruitt

should be able to get him here , maybe throw in a 2nd round pick or cash if you have to

Not a bad idea.  Just wondering which package NJ would want.  It's getting down to crunch time and I'm hoping Danny has another rabbit to pull out of his hat.

Love the idea, just not sure the Nets are too concerned with what they're paying Dooling - he's a money investment right now, outperforming his contract...what's the motivation? Gabe Pruitt's upside and TA's current production? Don't know if that's enticing, but I'm leaning toward the "no" side...

The Nets wouldn't trade him for that type of package, they value Dooling too highly for that.

I prefer Eddie House at the point anyway. I don't trust Dooling, too erratic.

It's a step in the right direction. I think Pruitt could do the job this year if given the time. I do like any deal that gets rid of Tony Allen, talk about erratic.

We send Pruitt, Allen, Pat0, and BBD w/Cash( and 2nd rounder) for Keyon Dooling and Sean Williams.

Why for us - We get a true PG that's not 40 and can create his own offense as well as pass the ball well AND defend. Plus we get a big PF that can rebound, block shots, and can dunk(some low post game, too).

Why for NJ - They get a younger replacement PG, a slashing SG to compliment Devin when Vince is hurt, traded, or benched. They get another SG prospect in Giddens, plus a true 7' C to play behind Lopez w/Pat0, and another 2nd rounder to use in future trades or whatever.

This trade also would free up space for us to make more moves if needed such as a SF, even though the only one I see available right now is...Antoine Walker, which I wouldn't mind signing if he was in shape(doubtful and we don't need another fatty(BBD))
Can't stop, Rondo!

They aren't interested. They wouldn't even be able to keep all those players in the roster. Tony Allen's trade value is very, very reduced - and the same can be said about any of our bench players. There's a reason why you want to trade half of them.

I wouldn't be interested on that deal for the C's either. Dooling is too inconsistent and unreliable - he's another 8th/9th man and we already have plenty of those. I'd rather roll with House/Allen than with Dooling and no backup wing at all.

Sean Williams for POB and a 2nd I'd do.
