Is Kobe Bryant a "Winner"
That may be the dumbest question ever asked in this blog.
Apply any standard you want and compare Kobe to just about any player in the NBA. Kobe compares favorably.
Kobe would be adored beyond comprehension if he was wearing a green uniform instead of the one he's wearing.
The OP (aka ME) posed the question because many seem to think he is not a winner. I don't agree with it, but wanted to hear what people thought about it.
The dumbest questions are generally things aren't even phrased in the form of a question, but merely have a question mark thrown at the end of a word or two.
Such as: 16th Man - Antoine?
Apologys, Redz. I'm tired of of this blog using this guy for target practice. It's almost as redundant as Scalabrine trade proposals.
Bryant made a stupid mistake and has paid an exhorbinant amount to an obvious gold digger. Everything else about his history off the court has been as exemplary as any NBA player. Any. He seems as driven to win as any NBA player and has never been on a sub-500 team. As we found out with Paul, being driven to win doesn't always make you the best teammate. Unlike Paul and some of our players and coaches, Kobe has never participated in a scam tanking season. He just proudly played for the USA in the olympic "competition"
and sounds sincerely proud to have done so.
I don't see the loser part. Kobe is an absolute winner.
I gotta agree with you on this. The Kobe hate is just so over the top. For one I don't think it is deserved, but more than that, I just don't understand why so many fans of the team that beat him, care so much about him that they constantly need to bash him.
yea same, TP to you and iowa, this kind of over the top "KOB IS THE DEVIL" hatred doesn't resonate with me. I don't liek him as a person, but to try to carry that over to demean his play on the court is ridiculous.
it's like during the olympics when people would post inane kobe comments and imply his a horrable person because he was statign the company line. strangly, only kobe felt CB's poster's wrath, even though every other american player was giving out the same lines. Despite that being brought up multiple times, the kobe bashers never responded to it and continued to attack kobe for saying what every olympic athlete says.
This also put me and others in the unenviable postition of semi-defendeing kobe. a position i hope never to have to take again, but the utter ridiculosness and lack of logic in the hatred prompted me to come to the man's defense.
