I'm an advocate of waiting until at least midseason to trade any of our young players so that we get a better feel of what they can do, see what improvements they made, and that we don't undervalue them now in a trade.   Plus 6 of our players have trade restrictions 4 of them can't be traded until December 15th or 3 months from when they signed whichever is later which includes Tony Allen, Eddie House, Darius Miles, and Patrick O'Bryant (Walker and Giddens have to wait 30 days after they signed to be traded).  So Roy is right we are very limited to what we can trade now.   However if I were to make a trade here is a possibility.  Scal of course because of his contract, BBD, future first or second round pick for either Martell Webster or Travis Outlaw.  Why both teams would do it?   Webster and Outlaw kind of duplicate themselves on Portland and I can foresee Portland trading one of them at some point.   Both are true small forwards and although still very young they are less risky for a backup SF than are current prospects at that position with Miles 2 years removed from his last game, Giddens and Walker both rooks, and Tony Allen not really a SF.  Plus both of these guys are excellent 3 point shooters and will help spread the floor like  Posey did while also athletic and should be able to defend well.   Since they are still very young they still have some room for improvement and upside which Ainge would like.  It doesn't put as much pressure on our rooks or Miles to push himself too fast in his rehab.   If Giddens, Walker, Miles all play up to their potential at some point we will have more trade pieces for future moves which is not a bad problem to have.  This move would also free up more playing time for Powe which I would love and add another roster spot for a vet big at some point Mourning, Brown, or whoever else.  For Portland they just drafted another SF they like in Batum so it will free up some playing  there for him and whoever they keep out of the 2 in this trade.  Even with Oden returning I don't think they would mind another talented big man as it's still unknown if Oden can hold up for 82 games.  Having Oden, Aldridge, Diogu, Frye, and BBD they would be set with 5 bigs for the future with all of them around the same age bringing different things to the table.   I'm guessng Przbilla is not in their long term plans and will be traded at some point.  If we spice up the deal with a with say a future 1st round pick instead of a 2nd pick maybe they will bite.  Portland's roster is pretty full and they would be taking on an extra player in Scal but they could easily buyout Lafrentz's contract if needed.

After saying all this I think I'd still rather wait until midseason before doing anything.

Do I get a TP? ;D

for the "courage" to write such a block paragraph alone you deserve a tp.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I'm not in this for the Tommy Points, but eventually, I would like to accumulate enough assets to make a trade for Al Jefferson.
