15 years and it still hurts.   I posted a tribute to Reggie yesterday on LOY's Place.   In case you missed it, Here is a link

stunningly painful.

- Reggie falling on the court in the play offs.
- The subsequent press conferences
- Being cleared to play
- The news coming out of Waltham
- Seeing ML and others crying at the hospital
- Jimmy Meyers' eulogy (anyone else miss Meyers?)
- The ugliness that was to follow....

Four positive memories
- Reggie's turkey give away
- The Reggie Lewis Center
- Retiring of the # 35
- Reggie's laugh

I was living only a few miles from Brandeis when Reggie collapsed in 93 and remember it like it was yesterday.  Two years earlier, I was working for ML and worked some events with Reggie.  He was incredibly quiet and polite.....just shaking my head.

what's his wife up to these days?  i remember this well, as you stated succinctly, everything that took place around this.  i grew up in ohio, and i'll never forget that night when my dad and i were watching a cleveland indians game on our local tv feed when the breaking news came on (via the play by play guy) that reggie lewis had died.

had that sick feeling in my gut all night...

but i remember all these events surrounding his wife as to the cause of death and all those press conferences...just curious what's became of her...

really nice interview, not about his illness, death, but about him being excited about replacing larry as the leader. and about the creation of the new garden. love this.

I remember the game where it was first learned that Reggie had a problem. Tommy Heinsohn noted his concern when he looked at the replays and saw Reggie didn't twist an ankle nor was he hit or tripped by anyone. Tommy saw no reasons for Reggie to go down and was very concerned.

Right, wrong or indifferent; Donna Harris-Lewis sued Dr. Mudge and others twice relating to Reggie's death.  Both times she lost.  Her third attempt to sue was dismissed in the State's Appeals Court in 2004.  Last I heard she was still living in Dedham working with the Reggie Lewis Foundation.

My dad is a professor at Northeastern. I saw his number get retired there. You still see the walls of corner stores in Dorchester with Reggie's image.

On a side note they have stopped doing the Reggie Lewis Turkey give a way I think it would be great if CB could step up and restart the tradition this coming thanksgiving. I would be more then willing to donate whatever I can.

If anyone goes to Northeastern and/or visits they should go to Cabot gym and ask for Paul O'Bryant. He will tell you a great story about Reggie.

interesting...i had mixed feelings about her.  i saw her as both a grieving wife, yet a nuisance as well.  i understand the idea of making sure that someone is financially secure, but i thought her way of handling things was done with poor judgment.

I still remember very vividly, being a 13-year-old kid, watching ESPN, and seeing Charley Steiner come on with a special report (which ESPN almost never does).  What a terrible day.

I had a black Celtics hat that I drew on with chalk, "RL" on one side and "35" on the other.  I wanted to shave RL 35 in the back of my hair, but my mom wouldn't let me.  From that day on, I always tried to pick 35 as my number whenever I played basketball.

We miss you still, Reggie.
