Isnt this the clown who blew up the Jason Kidd deal with his no trade clause? 8)

Of all the things, this is one I don't mind nor blame him for. No one in his right mind with a no trade clause would agree to get traded to the Nets when your in a squad with Championship possibilities.
I dont blame him for refusing either, that was/is his right. I just remember that he was the cause that the original trade needed to be restuctured according to media sources. I think the whole thing was handled poorly by the Mavericks orginization and George's agent. I still think he is a clown, though. 8)

No objections from my side that he is indeed a clown.

I don't believe it was a no-trade clause. It is protection that is part of the CBA. They should have talked with him first since they must know the rules. I believe the rule has something to do with gaining Bird rights, but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Why should any player agree to a trade they don't like and that they have the right to veto? I don't see why we should make any conclusions about his character from this. Why should he sacrifice his own best interests for a team that he would no longer be on? Makes no sense.

Although quite rare, Devean George had a no-trade clause.

He was on a one year contract, and if they traded him, he would have lost his Bird Rights.  Any player on a one year contract, who would lose Bird rights because of a trade, has the right to veto any trade.  It was nothing written into his contract, merely a CBA thing.  I am pretty sure that the only player in the NBA with a true no trade clause is Kobe.

Yeah, I think there's a rule that you need to be with a team for 8 straight years to have a no trade clause in your contract.  I believe Kobe might be the only player in the league with one and KG I think had one in Minnesota.
