Maybe you could try this one:

it's funny, but i actually enjoyed this championship more for my kids than myself...our oldest is 8 years old and LOVES the celtics - this group of players are HIS heroes.  the older i get the more i cherish the bird/mchale/parish group of my teenage years - they were MY heroes.

i'm glad they won, but i have no deep emotional investment, and the dvd would just collect dust as i'd probably have little interest in watching it.

i guess over time i've seen the game change, and watching the baseball all-star game last night made me realize how important it is for a professional sports league to embrace their history - i guess i'm kinda turned off by the nba because it's become a hip-hop league, and that's something that just doesn't interest me.

but i hope you guys that get the dvd enjoy it...

i agree andy - can't quite wrap my arms around the hip-hop caps-worn-to-the-side nba of today either. i pulled hard for the team in the playoffs - and i liked seeing pierce & garnett gain some redemption together - but mostly i'm happy for the sake of the Celtics franchise and the legacy of Red.

i fell in love with the Celtics in 1969 as a kid watching the "Miracle Celtics" win one last title. then, my teenage heroes were cowens, jo-jo & havlicek. i loved those guys.

so i'll enjoy this championship and the dvd at a little less than a full boil - but content all the same that the nba trophy is back where it's always belonged.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

The Championship DVD is pretty solid.

It's a well-rounded summary of the entire season with various interviews and locker room scenes. It's definitely a good collector's item but it's not something you're going to watch over and over again.

One thing the DVD does do well is incorporate some background interviews with what's going on in the games. You do get a better sense of just how historic this Championship run really is because it could have easily not come to fruition.

C's played two series to Game 7's followed by a 10 point deficit in the 4th quarter against the Pistons in the ECF, followed by a near disastrous knee injury to Paul Pierce in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

It really was a great showing of mental toughness and team cohesiveness that made it all possible.

22 years since our last title.

I think C's fans are truly spoiled....winning the ultimate doesn't come regularly.

This team definitely deserves it's own special place not only in Celtic's History but Sports History.

Its too summarized, and leaves out alot of key moments through out the season, and misses, and barely touches on alot of aspects of the season that I would have loved to have been included. I just wish it was put together by someone who has as much passion for this team as I do. I wish I had the resources and footage to put something together because I'd do it myself.

There are just so many little intricate details that are left out... they left out alot. Tommny Heinsohn barely was in it if at all, and no one has been more diehard than him. they downplayed and did a crappy job of capturing the emotion of the crowds reactions, and chants, and involvement. and it would be cool if they had the opening video as a bonus feature atleast, or maybe have that play to open the movie with Garnett's staple scream that was played at teh beginning of every game this season...

and i'm not so sure of how i feel about that I am a celtic exerpt. I'd rather hear from heinsohn rather than cousy. Cousy said something like, "the past 20 years no one has cared, not even in boston, the fans didnt care, they've been sitting on their hands." I'm sorry Bob but thats just not true at all, and this celtics blog atest to the fact that there is a great deal of people who have cared and cheered, and loved our teams that havent done so well. this site didnt just come into existence this year.

I would have liked the dvd to go into more detail of the adversity that this team faced and had to overcome like against atlanta, and then cleveland... there wasnt enough on those 2 series. I can remember so many great plays that was going crazy over... I think the movie was over edited... I just want the games as they were played.

C's fans are not spoiled. How so? I am appreciating this until next season begins. The banner hasnt been raised yet. and after that... well... one thing that cousy did say that i liked... when next season begins, its kill kill kill win again.

The best is to DVR the playoff games on NBA tv in HD - they're replaying almost all of them... my favorites are games 4 and 6 of the finals - in game 4 I just can't believe they will come back even though I know they did and have seen it about 5 times already - in game 6 it is hard to believe at the start of the 2nd quarter that the question at the end of the game will be, do the C's win by 40?

Ah - good stuff...

I bought the DVD, but I do have all the Celtics wins on DVR.  Is there any way to copy from DVR to DVD?

Buy a DVD burner (and feel free to ship me a copy of all the games :) )

I received mine in the mail yesterday (wish i would have waited, as the Blu Ray version comes out next week).  With that said, the DVD is what it is...i quick overview of the season.  Yeah, it could have been longer than an hour...especially considering the amount you can put on a DVD.  I'm looking forward to the deluxe boxset that is "supposedly" coming out next month.  I'm hoping they'll put that out on blu ray as well.  I wish i would have tivo'ed Game 6 against the Lakers.  I am a very supersticious person...and thought that if i would have tivo'ed it they would lose!  Hopefully the full games will be on the box set.
