he should just apply for college, i am serious.
4 good yrs will help him mature intellectually and as a player.
he should concider it while he is still young

He could go to college, but he wouldn't be eligible to play.

he can't make it into college if he tried. it'd be like him being a defensive minded player- not going to happen. i doubt his sat's would touch college acceptance standards, even the low bar they set for athletes.

you have zero basis for that statement and it is not a fair one to make.  GG was committed to Oklahoma State before declaring for the draft, so it looks like he could have gone to college. Plus there are plenty of places of higher education out there for kids who dont' do well on standardized tests (and colleges are looking less and less at those as well) - to assume GG is unintelligent because he's not a smart basketball player is unfiar and ungrounded.

Well...  Gerald isn't very smart, or at least he wasn't dedicated to academics in high school.  Gerald had some academic ineligibility issues in high school, and actually failed the eleventh grade (in other words, unlike many 5-year seniors, he didn't do a PG year; it took him five years to graduate).

Gerald is an immature kid who hasn't shown himself to be very bright on or off the court.  He's coupled that with a poor work ethic.  It's too bad, because physically, he has a smooth jumper and tremendous hops (that was a heck of a dunk.)

What constitutes a smooth jumper?  Outside of his rookie year where he shot well, he really hasn't shot the ball well the last two years (at least that's how I remember it).  Can you have a smooth jumper even if you can't knock down shots? I'm not being funny or anything.  This is a serious question.

He shot the ball well his second year in Boston.  A .472 eFG% on jumpers is pretty good; Kobe's eFG% on jumpers was .467 that same year, and Lebron's was .394.  Gerald also shot .462 eFG% on jumpers in his rookie season, which is very respectable.

Now, last season Gerald fell off a cliff with his shooting, but that's partly due to an inconsistent role.  Upon until that time, his shooting had been a plus.

Gerald is a good shooter. He can shoot from ALL over the court.  And can finish at the rim. How many players can do all of that?

18 points in his most recent Summer League game.
