I'm not a Doc basher.  However, it seems to me that Mike Fratello just might be the kind of coach that this team needs.  He's very good at running a half-court offense, and his teams play good defense.

That's all well and good, but shouldn't this stuff wait until after the playoffs are over for the Celtics??  Like him or not, Doc is our coach for at least the remainder of the year, so it doesn't make much sense speculating or wondering about potential coaches when we're still in the playoffs.  Why does it seem like so much talk right now is similar to this time last year, when we went 24-58 and didn't make the playoffs??  C'mon people, I know it's a bit depressing for the team to have lost 2 in a row to the Hawks, but we're still in good position to win the series and we still have home court throughout the playoffs.

I think I'd rather "suffer" through Doc than watch a team that averages 70 points a night (even if they're winning by doing so)
Yup

I don't think that will be a problem in Boston.  Boston has scorers.  Cleveland didn't.

Not high on my list to replace Doc.

Oh, he'd find a way.  Like him as a color guy on TV though.

If the Celtics win, will you switch to the Neutron Dance?

I'd love to have Larry Bird as the head coach of this team.  I think his competitiveness would be carried out by KG.

Mike's good at what he is doing now, don't think he would blend well with the Celtics as a coach.Although,he is one of few TV analsyt, that doesn't take every opportunity he can to bury the Celtic's.I rather keep him where he presently sits. `

Fratello was the coach Red Auerbach had in mind when said the game of the 90's had become too coach dominated.  This is also the same guy who's owner said the team had become too boring to watch when he fired him in Cleveland.

If Doc goes I'd give the job to Thibodeau.  Either that or go get someone like Dave Cowens.  I think he'd instill a little more mental toughness into this bunch - which they could use -- plus it's a veteran group so you don't necessarily need an X and O guy.  I think he'd actually be an excellent fit -- if he'd be interested.

TP, CelticsWhat.  We're four games removed from the completion of a 66-win regular season and one best-of-three series victory over the Hawks from moving on to the second round and forgetting about all of the misery this week...I'm not exactly throwing Doc onto the porch yet here.  Wasn't the world's most well-coached game on Monday...but it's over, and there is still much basketball to be played.  Go get 'em tonight, boys!
