Wonder if the C's can swoop in and trade PG and picks for Kawhi if this deal falls through or the Clippers don't want to wait.  Sending PG13 back there would be pretty funny.  Won't happen but would be funny.

Last season Kawhi Averaged 28pts/6rebs/4ast/2stls and he played in 65 games. Im guessing it?s because of that.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Someone online joked that the USA is holding Kawhi hostage and keeping him away from Canada

Trump intervened and wants a kick back or some other concession before he will allow it.

Are you aware he is under investigation.

The Kawhi Leonard-Aspiration Scandal, for those blessed enough to have avoided hearing about it, can be oversimplified as such: investigative reporter Pablo Torre alleged last September that Leonard had been paid $28 million through a fraudulent company (Aspiration) to do nothing, a sum which eventually rose to $48 million after additional reporting. Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer had invested $50 million in the company, which has since gone bankrupt from a much larger fraud case, with Torre saying the ?no-show? deal was a massive circumvention of the salary cap.

He could be banned any day possibly.

I wonder if the Celtics can trick Toronto into thinking Paul George is an adequate replacement and get the package they were sending LAC. Hey, a man can hope right? I'd even settle for just one 1st and one swap. I'm a reasonable guy  :D

Kawhi actually makes about $4M less than George plus is expiring after this season.  That said, do you really want to rent Kawhi for 1 season?  I guess if you could trade for him straight up for Paul George, sure, but that will never happen.  TOR gave up:

Ingram (a decent fringe all star player)
Gradey Dick (a useful player with some upside)
2-firsts (2031, 2033)
a first round swap (2027, which might net a lottery pick)
and a couple of seconds.

This for a player who has both physical and emotional durability issues.

What is TOR going to get out of Kawhi, one good season?  How likely is it that he can go back to back full seasons of being the man?  And even if you do get that one good season out of him, then what?  Sign him to a max deal at age 36?  Line up some "endorsement" deals?

I know this is a rhetorical comment you are making, but my question is what TOR would have offered for Jaylen Brown.  Something similar?  Did TOR get the call from Brown's people and not offer much at all?  Would you like Ingram and those 2 firsts better than George and the 2 PHI picks (I know one is technically a swap).  Brown seems to fit TOR's timeline way better.

I don't think there's any actual proof that Brown quashed deals.  It's guys from the Ringer saying "they think" -- which is different than "I heard from a credible source" - that might have happened, with no evidence.

I think Toronto wanted Kawhi, and focused on him.

I?m aware as I?m sure the Raptors organization is as well. It will get swept. He is still a star player in the league.
