Just in: The Chicago Bulls have traded Ayo Dosunmu to the Minnesota Timberwolves, sources tell ESPN.

Minnesota traded Rob Dillingham, Leonard Miller and four second-round picks to Chicago for Dosunmu and Julian Phillips, sources said.

Fantastic trade for Minnesota. That could put them back in the title mix in the West. They desperately needed an upgrade at guard. A defensive guard like Ayo is a perfect fit. A shooter who can knock down shots. A big athletic rangy guard who fits their defense. He is fantastic for them.

Terrible deal for Chicago. Downgraded. They dumping good players for worse players.

Leonard Miller? Another PF?

So they have Mataz Buzelis and Pat Williams as their current PFs. Then they added Ousmane Dieng. Then Yabusele. Now Leonard Miller. Why do they need 5 4 big forwards?

That roster makes no sense. No balance.

Edit: Sorry. I missed that Dieng to MIL trade for Nick Richards. At least that is a bit better. Only 4 PFs and an actual C for once.

Happy to see Pat Riley being further exposed. Miami was the only team that didn't do any trade at the deadline. And the rumor is, they could have had Morant for Ware/Jacquez, Rozier and a first round pick and Miami didn't want to do it. And as annual tradition, they "believe" they can make a run in the playoffs with the core they have.

That team's gonna be mediocre for a while as Bam and others stagnate too. Hate to see it!

I wouldn't have done that deal for Young Thug, either.

No but Miami continues to not just get better and strike out on any star available.

They'll say they are in on everyone in the offseason and do nothing again. Butler left for pretty much the same reason.

The Los Angeles Lakers are trading Gabe Vincent and a 2032 second-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks for Luke Kennard, sources tell ESPN.

Downgrade.

Luka Kennard is one of the worst defenders in the league. LAL can't afford to fit him into their lineup alongside Luka, Reaves and LeBron. They need athletes / defenders alongside them. Not a guy who can't cover anyone in the entire league. Gabe Vincent was at least a playable 3+D role player guard.

More quality depth for Atlanta. They only had CJ McCollum as a true bench guard. Now they have a 2nd guard. More of athletic defensive guard. They still have Buddy Hield and Kuminga as wings. Mo Gueye as a big forward. Asa Newell and Londale as bigs. 12 men deep.

The Knicks are sending Dalen Terry, two second-round picks and cash to the Pelicans for Alvarado, sources said.

That is a great get for NYK but they already have Miles McBride and Jordan Clarkson as reserve guards. Where are the minutes coming from? It is just swapping out one good bench guard for a different bench guard. Same just different.

A reserve forward or big would have been much more valuable.

i think he's supposed to be available by the beginning of the playoffs but McBride either just had hernia surgery or is about to

It feels strange to bring in 2 PFs to force Ace Bailey out of position to SG rather than his natural position at small forward.

Ace Bailey's lack of ball-handling and passing will be an issue at SG. Also, he seems more of a scorer than a pure shooter. So you will have a deficit of shooting as well. He will likely be below average in shooting, ball-handling & passing relative to other starting SGs.

Ace Bailey is meant to be a franchise cornerstone. Why are Utah forcing him out of position? To a spot where he will be less effective?

* Defensively = I agree. That lineup could be very good together.
* Offensively = I think it will be messy. Lack of passers. Lack of ball-handling.

Yes, but he is not a guard. He doesn't have the skill-set. He has the skill-set of a (SF) forward.

Haywood Highsmith was waived by the Brooklyn Nets today. He hasn't played at all season. I do not know why. He is a solid bench player. Played well for Miami. Good defender / rebounder. A low volume but adequate 3 point shooter.
