I'ma repeat myself from, well, literally all season;

I can not understand how people would want to opt in to the Bimmons experience.

Holy crock of. I've never seen someone so unwilling to play ball. How do you think that's going to affect your team? Come on man. Dude only plays on days that don't end in "day". Screw that.

Imagine trading a multiple DPOY for a black hole on your roster.

How are people still falling for this!?!?11

I've got some Lakers fan friends (sorry) and they want to trade Westbrook for Bimmons and tbh, even that's laughable.

I find it confusing how many people watch Utah and come to the conclusion that Gobert is the problem.  Their star guard doesn't defend and gets periodic cases of bad tunnel vision, their #2 scorer doesn't pass or defend, their 6MOTY bench gunner doesn't pass or defend, their PG is 34 and has lost a step in addition to being horrendous in these playoffs.  Despite all that Gobert is the part that needs to be traded?

People fixate on the idea that Gobert doesn't defend the perimeter well.  He's a drop big who is the best paint defender of this decade.  Defending the perimeter is not his job.  The much larger issue for Utah is the fact that the team's actual perimeter defenders also can't defend the perimeter.  Rather than playing shooters tight and funneling drivers into Gobert in the middle like they're supposed to, they just... don't take anything from the opposing offense at all.

I don't know.  Maybe I'm the one who is wrong about all of this.  I just feel like trading Gobert - especially for a guy who doesn't want to play - does not address Utah's biggest problems and will most likely make them worse instead.

I'm with you. I have a higher opinion of Donovan Mitchell but aside from that we are on the same page.

It is ludicrous to me to trade Gobert. You are not going to get anywhere near equal value for a defense-only player like him. Utah will take a major step back if they trade him.

Gobert is the glue that holds that team together and makes it work. Mitchell is the special sauce that gives it a chance to succeed in the postseason against superior talent.

I also do not view Mitchell as an easy player to build around. He has the game of a #1 star who monopolizes the ball but lacks the efficiency to be a true franchise guy. The more offensive talent you put around him the less you will get out him. He is not the type of player who will do better when asked to share the ball more.

This is not the type of guy who is easy to build around. You don't throw away high level players like Gobert -- and I say throw away because in no world are they going to get back comparable talent -- to try and build around awkward to build around stars like Mitchell.

Mitchell and Gobert are the two guys you would want to keep with the rest of the roster replaceable. If one of those guys needs to be moved, I'd move Mitchell and keep Gobert. Better relative trade value and superior roster after the trade.

The reason Utah would trade Gobert is due to chemistry reasons.  To fix those, you bring in Simmons?  Explain that one to me.

He is just a sweet levelheaded young man trying hard to work his way up in the NBA world .

Someone proposed a Mitchell to Cleveland trade.  Sexton and draft picks was the main thing going back.  That seemed interesting to me.  Not sure what else the Jazz would need as I don't think Sexton and a couple 1st's is enough, but it does seem framework for a deal that could be made.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

You can just imagine the pressure Ben will have if ever he lands with the Lakers.

Gobert was next to useless playing Dallas. His game doesn't fit today's nba, especially in the playoffs.

Having said that, no way I would want Simmons in my locker room. He's poison.

Hilarious that there are Simmons trade rumors and he's never even played for the Nets.

Did anybody else see how old Danny looked in the stands of game 6 Utah/Dallas? Yikes. Can totally see him panicking about feeling like the new owner brought him in to make a move and that’s the move he makes because it’s the only real move out there (how else are they going to move on from Gobert? Not many teams can afford him and is exactly what they need, but the Nets are one of them).

That said, Utah may be the best place for Simmons. It’s low-pressure, they’ll be patient, Donovan is the Batman and he could slowly break into Robin, etc.

I think Jazz would want to get rid of Donovan instead of Gobert lol. At least that's what I've heard from some Jazz fans. Donovan might be a locker room problem/cancer for them, and replacing Quin Snyder and the coaching staff.

Honestly it's not bad

But feels like the Nets should add something to make this worth it for the Jazz

Not sure what the heck they can even add lol

Nets would definitely have to cough up someone else of value.  Simmons has not played in over a season.  his skill level, fitness, overall physical and mental health - not to mention his competitiveness -- are all areas of  concern.  that's not even getting into the possibility of him yet again sitting out to force a trade to LA where he seems to want to be.
