If I could survive the Brett Szabo years I can survive this...

Brett was undrafted, so not much was expected, but you must have also lived through the Michael Smith era too, and survived!

I think of Szabo more as representative of an era when they were flat out awful and hopeless by design.
I'm old, but does anyone remember the big two of Curtis Rowe and Sidney Wicks?

Yeh.  That was a pretty bleak little era between Hondo and Bird.

Yes I remember Rowe-Wickes "era" well.   What's amazing is how short the down years were between Hondo and Bird -- and how long it seemed back then.   It boiled down to 2 bleak years. C's were champions in '76 and were decent in '77 (Havlicek, JoJo, and Cowens still there).  Then Bird in '80 (were 61-21 and lost in ECF).

We've become accustomed to waiting and waiting unfortunately.

I agree.  Sick of watching this crap show.  How to screw up a rebuild in ten years by the Boston Celtics!

Glad they stepped up and got joe Johnson  ::)

I find myself drinking more to watch these games (why I avoid game threads). Don’t rewatch them anymore, not since the bubble season. I used to be a fanatic watch live, dvr it all, then rewatching every play 2 to 4 times looking at how the plays broke down. It's has been rough to watch this group.

Grant as a future starter??? Ugh!!!
Ha, I had the same reaction.

Too limited offensively and defensively for major minutes.

Hey CBS, there are players you are not complaining about. Why?:

Al Horford - Too old
Payton Pritchard - Too small, can't defend
Romeo Lanford - Injury-prone
Josh Richardson - Looks good lately but inconsistent
Enes Freedom - Too political
Jabari Parker - Washed up
Juan Hernangomez - Mediocre journeyman

Because those personnel issues are inconsequential moving fwd. even Average Al’s contract which we can manipulate and extend moving forward. The rest are demonstrably negatively impacting us in the present.

Remember them well - the definition of selfishness. Could not have cared less about the Boston Celtics.
Along with owner John Y. Brown, that post '76 era almost saw Red leave to be GM for the Knicks.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce
