Sacramento gets
Marcus Smart
Josh Richardson
Hernangomez

Boston gets
Buddy Hield
Marcus Bagley

Both Hield & Bagley wants out, Smart needs to go as Schroeder is a better PG..right now, it’s look like we a 500 team fighting for a playoff berth.. need a shakeup
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Can Richardson even be traded this year?  I've seen conflicting reports about it given his extension.

Even if Richardson can be traded at some point this year, why would Sacramento do that trade?
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I can't absolutely confirm when these players can be traded but Spotrac says Richardson on 7 Jan 2022, Smart on 17 Jan 2022, and JHern, no restriction is listed.

As to the trade, I think it is too much of a "blow up" to make at this time.  Smart and Richardson are core players.  The team has been largely disappointing in 5 games so far but I am not ready to go to this extreme.  You don't "shake up" the team after just 5 games.  Hield and Bagley are nice players but they are probably both bench players for us.  It would be great if Bagley became a starting level PF (he is not one right now) but that would still leave Hield coming off the bench.

Hield and Richardson are probably nearly a wash when defense and everything is figured in and so you are giving up Smart for a questionable big with a lot of potential but who can't even get on the court in SAC.  It would shake things up, that is for sure but I am not sure it makes us better.

I dint know enough about Bagley. So I won’t comment but Smart for Hield , absolutely.

I would have made a smart/ Hield trade for well before this year if it was possible. Smart may start but he’s a bench player , ideally. Hield may be too due to size, but we’d have an elite shooter.

Another trade scenario where we give up players we don’t want (in this case, three of them!).

I’ve yet to see a trade proposal where we suggest good players going out.

Sacramento has Davion Mitchell behind their two best young players, Fox and Halliburton. Mitchell is, or soon will be, better than Smart at everything, defense included.

There are likely the team that would be least interested in Smart in the NBA.

Oh , okay . Maybe the tides have finally shifted . I’ve wanted to part with smart for a long time. But most ( not talking here) call me crazy. That he’s the heart of the team etc etc .  I’d be thrilled to move on.

TP. Mitchell is a beast.

What is the Celtics long term PG plan then?

Either Schroder plays great and he gets a contract the Celtics can't match or he doesn't and the Celtics don't want him back.
