I think the general rotation will be something like this as the roster is currently constructed

PG - Schroder 30, Smart 8, Pritchard 10
SG - Smart 22, Richardson 26
SF - Brown 34, Nesmith 14
PF - Tatum 35, Parker/G. Williams 13
C - Horford 24, Williams 24

Guys that will regularly play some depending on matchup - Dunn, Langford, Kanter

I forgot about Parker... is he under payroll for next season?

I prefer to keep Fernando over Dunn.  Horford, TL, Kanter are not enough depth upfront

Get rid of Carsen Edwards.  He is and has been a waste of a roster spot for years now.

I think he looks somewhat improved. More in control of himself, a little quicker trying to penetrate, etc, but he's still not good enough. He really brings nothing to the table. But if he's the 14th or 15th guy on the roster, he's not impeding or hurting anything, other than a little bit of cap space.

He's on a non-guaranteed contract. Someone posted recently that we're on the hook for $100K as of now, and at least half of his $2.2M salary if he's on the roster opening day.

The patriots have been successful with intense competition at certain spots. They have regularly signed multiple players in free agency and just let them go if someone already on the roster steps up.
If a player thinks padding his stats at the expense of winning, we want them to go away and we want the coach to notice it and bench the player. For instance, if Smart wants to start as point guard, he has to prove he can run an offense and make everyone else better and create shots for players who shoot at a higher percentage than he does instead of taking too many hard 3 pointers. And all three of these guys have to prove they are better than Pritchard who seems to pass as well as any of them and shoots 3's better than any of them.

It can work or backfire

Reminder 2018 Celts team drama

Between Brown and Tatum aspirations to continue to be selected to the all star game/all nba teams to these three up for new contracts

Does PP, Nesmith, Langford developments take a backseat?

Udoka and coaching staff need to...
There is no way to have a team that won't always have concerns like this.

Considering the # of games we've had guys miss with injury/illness the last year or two, the minutes and shots will probably work themselves out.

Parker is the odd man out barring a trade.

Also, I would imagine that Kanter will get 5-10 minutes a game, on average.  This may allow the Celts to slide Horford to PF for a few minutes a game, given the lack of depth at that position.

All three will up for new contracts after next season.  There has to be some concerns regarding...

1. Who starts. Who is adamant that they should start. Reports are Schroder doesnt see himself coming off the bench.  Could see Smart and JRich also voicing their preference

2.  Concept of the team play. Or self fulfillment stat hunting?

3. Which could lead to some locker room tension. Perhaps even spilling to Tatum/Brown who we all know will want to take their 20FGAs plus per game

Has Brad overplayed his hands?
The emboldened is incorrect, Schroder understands he is not a guaranteed starter and has to earn it.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I cant find it regarding joining the Celtics... maybe it was just an analysist opinion

But if you go by what he said last season

Quote
"I did this off-the-bench stuff already in two years with OKC," Schroder, who finished second behind teammate Montrezl Harrell for Sixth Man of the Year for his role with the Thunder, said on an introductory videoconference call with reporters Monday. "I think I try to move forward, and I think with [Anthony Davis] and LeBron, I can be helpful as a starter in the PG position."

Schroder said that he has not spoken to Lakers coach Frank Vogel about his desire to start, however his representatives, Alex Saratsis and Jeff Austin of Octagon, discussed that aspect with the Lakers front office prior to L.A.'s trading guard Danny Green and the No. 28 pick in the draft to the Thunder to complete the deal.

"I think my agent talked to the organization before they was trading me," he said "So, that's that."

Per a source: Dennis Schroder signed with Boston with no expectation of a starting role. Celtics made it clear that Ime Udoka will evaluate roles and minutes. Also, this will be Udoka's decision only. The front office, led by Brad Stevens, will not get involved in PT decisions.

Schroder already got burned this offseason not getting a contract he'd want or near it, it's on his best interest to not cause problems. Really, this is the least of our concerns and not worth discussing at this point at all. But have at it.

@Gouki88.  Ok good.  Hopefully Schroder lives up to this and doesn't pout etc.

you would think that Marcus would learn from Schroder mistake and sign the supposedly current Celts offer

Analysts think...Smart is playing a cat and mouse game, so that he wouldn't ultimately get stuck playing for a team like the Wizards

How about....take the money??

I imagine after missing out on ~$80m he will be on his best behaviour
