I mean elephant in the room - the Celtics need to get better.

Tatum has a lot of Chemistry with Bradley Beal as they are like really close friends.

On top of that Beal is wildly talented offensive player.

Should Stevens explore the possibility of trading for Beal?

If he did what would you be willing to give up?  AKA Do you give up Brown plus spare pieces to acquire Beal?  If not, who?

Yes, attempt to trade for him.

But no, don't give up Jaylen.  We need a Big Three, not a more prolific but poorer shooting Big Two.

We would have to convince them to take Kemba + picks + filler. I would say the two Jays are off limits.

We need a PG general or a dominant 7 foot big more than we need a shooting guard.

I'd have to knock on the Timberwolves door and ask the price for Towns.

Exactly. Enough of these ball-dominant, score first guards.
How many times do we have to try this to accept the fact that it is not a good fit for this team?
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

The more realistic target might be Lowry? He could be a Chris Paul type of veteran presence for the Jays. He’s also a tough playoff competitor.

Sure

I've made something like this proposal before, still think it makes a lot of sense

NY - Walker
WAS - Knox, Nesmith, Langford, Thompson, NY 21 1st, BOS 21 1st, BOS 22 1st
BOS - Beal, Bertans

I'd then try to do something like this

MIN - Brown, Smart, R. Williams, BOS 24 1st (top 5)
BOS - Towns, Rubio

Roster post-trades and bringing back Fournier/Semi/Kornet (still 3 spots for F.A. - need some size obviously)
PG - Rubio, Pritchard, Edwards
SG - Beal, Fournier
SF - Tatum, Ojeleye
PF - Bertans, Parker, G. Williams
C - Towns, Kornet
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

These are creative ideas.  I like that roster but defensively seems pretty challenged. Maybe in this new league, new rules, offense is king.  I don't think the Knicks have any interest in Kemba, because Thibs will likely veto trading for Kemba.  I wonder whether Towns will ever demand a trade. How many years left on his contract?

not sure if the OP meant "trade all cost"

if that is the case then "no"!
I am not sure trading Jaylen for Beal is that much of an upgrade.  Maybe it is, but it is not obvious to me.

...now, Beal for Smart plus change? "yes"!.   This package could include anyone Washington desires with the exception of the Js.  We are desperate for a reliable scoring punch not named Kemba.  We are also desperate for some good old fashion ball movement and swagger.

Beal would have great chemistry with Tatum.  I wonder if Stevens will take a different approach and try to please the players... and a big step in that direction would be to acquire Beal to team up with Tatum imo.

Just in case you guys forgot, Bradley Beal over the past 2 seasons:
19-20 30.5 ppg 6.1 apg 46/35/84 FG/3P/FT
20-21 31.3 ppg 4.4 apg 49/35/89 FG/3P/FT

He has been an ELITE scoring guard.  And the Celtics can always use more scoring punch.
Our offense when Tatum is on the bench was pretty much toothless.

Just to put meat on the stats.  The Celtics bench averaged 31.3 PPG which is the 3rd lowest bench scoring in the ENTIRE NBA!

Top 3 bench scoring teams:
Detroit Pistons 41.3
LA Lakers 40.3
Minnesota Timberwolves 40.2

I voted yes, but no, you don't give up Brown.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021
