- Agree re: Fournier ... somebody will offer him a dumb contract. Don't know if they'll create another TPE, given their tax situation a TPE is not that useful.
- I'm doubtful that Smart gets traded simply because I think it will be really difficult to justify moving him for what they're likely to get in return, which is not that much. Does it makes sense to trade a franchise icon / team-culture centerpiece for a late 1st rounder or a lesser role player?
I've gone back and forth on Smart getting moved; in other places I've predicted that he's gone. I really don't know what to think. It feels like he's the most obvious player to get traded but also the hardest one to trade because of what he means to the team versus what he's likely to fetch in a deal.
- That said if the team is having another muddled, up-and-down season next year, I could see them trading Smart for a protected pick at the trade deadline.
- Tristan Thompson will be traded, either as a cost-cutting salary dump or as a swap for another role player on a similar deal who is a better fit (my favorite idea is to trade him for Plumlee).
- I think they're going to find some way to trade Kemba. It's hard to think of plausible scenarios, but my gut instinct is that they will trade him. I don't think people will like the return, though, or the price. My prediction is that either Rob Williams or Romeo Langford will be included in that trade, and the Celts won't be getting back anybody exciting or who figures to stick around beyond next season.
- Bold prediction - everybody from the now infamous 2019 draft class will be on other teams / out of the league by the start of next season.
