The only way I see Saric coming to Boston would be as a 3 team deal.
Boston in: Saric
Boston out: Piece(s) to match and picks
Suns out: Saric, Tyler Johnson, another body to match salaries, Sun pick
Suns in: Kevin Love
Cleveland out: Love
Cleveland in: Celtic pieces, Celtic picks, Tyler Johnson, Suns pick and Suns other body to match salaries.
That's just quick. Probably need to adjust a bit but that's an example of a 3 way that makes sense for everyone.
I really don't get why the Suns would want Love. He is better than Saric, but I'm not sure he is that much better especially factoring in the injury concerns (nevertheless that contract). I also don't think a Love/Ayton front court for the next 3.5 seasons makes a whole lot of sense. If Love was a short term contract or small dollar contract, then sure might be worth the risk for the Suns, but I don't see them going after Love.
Now maybe Love to Denver with Millsap going to the Suns and something like that Saric/Johnson package going to Cleveland might make sense. That seemingly makes a great deal of sense for all 3 teams.
The Suns aren't signing any top flight free agents any time soon so they'd have to acquire one though a trade. LOve would get people in the sits and he'd help spread the floor for Booker. Love?Ayton is a good fit offensively but not defensively. I do like a Baynes/Love fit.
Love isn't a top flight free agent anymore. He is a good player, but he is overpaid, he is injury prone, and he is on the wrong side of 30. It simply doesn't make sense for the Suns to use their future cap space on Love. If he was expiring this year or next year, I think acquiring him would make a lot more sense for the Suns as he could provide a steadying veteran presence without killing their cap.
Remember cap room isn't just about free agents, it can be used as a dumping ground for teams wanting to create more room, and more importantly allows room to keep all of the young players that they need/want to keep. In the 22-23 season they would have Booker, Love, and Ayton (presumably) all on max contracts. They will have had to make decisions on Saric, Oubre, Kaminsky, Bridges, and Rubio as well and anyone else they sign along the way (as well as guys like Baynes). Love just doesn't make sense for the Suns. The Suns have historically been a terrible franchise though, so maybe the do have eyes for Love, I just don't think he makes sense for them. Love absolutely makes sense for Portland and Denver, the two other teams mentioned for him. Those two teams are in different situations than the Suns.
Your not wrong but the Suns are the Suns....
Maybe The Knicks trade for Love, they need another power forward....
