Maybe a progression and a mimicking of Kyrie but it is more important getting the ball in rhythm and on target for shooters taking threes.
Those pocket passes must be the right height for Horford and Theis .The nonchalant lobs and no looks .All this showmansip leads to silly turnovers and missed shots.

Marcus is as good of a passer as anyone else on this team.

His turnovers are a result of making awesome passes that others can't/don't.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I agree with you Rollie, some of his passes as of late have been bad passes.

I also agree with you Rollie. The last month or so for some reason he is trying to make spectacular but foolish passes resulting in turnovers. Let's not get cute. Turnovers kill us. I love Smart but we don't need to play like the Harlem Globetrotters.

It seems to be a bit of an epidemic.  Soft, lazy passes too.  Especially the little loft passed into the paint.
Yup

Related — Kyrie’s nonchalant behind the back leaves are surprising his teammates, hurting the rhythm of the offense, and vulnerable to theft. Bad habit imo.

This team is poorly coached in fundamentals...blocking out on rebounds, not taking pull up threes on the fast break with no help, not standing up on defense, squaring up when you shoot threes, using bounce passes, the list goes on and one.

What you're probably seeing is him reaching a new level of facilitator. Don't call a player out while they're growing. Everyone learns from mistakes...give them the space to do that.

Seems like all yall want is players who never miss a 3. What kinda one-trick pony "team" would that be?

You guys miss the big picture and it can be maddening sometimes.

There's really no difference at all between yall and celebrity Laker fans...who you always say don't have a clue about ball.

But guess what....some of you guys need to move to El segundo

Dayum...the man is clearly improving his shot which was his only negative, and yall still on this dude. He has about 10 positives and the only thing you can see is he's not shooting like Curry, or passing like Stockton. He AIN'T Stockton.

Seriously Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.?

And I wish they would push that 3 point line back...tired of watching scrubs with their circus shots. I miss the banging, holding while the refs aren't looking, the grabbing, and if you weren't strong you couldn't see alot of minutes.

And I miss Rodman's kung fu down low.

I'll give him a pass on this.

I trust that Marcus Smart will use better discretion on his passing. God knows the man has done SO MANY positives for us in BOS..

That play on Greek Freak towards the end of our game in MIL? Dude tied him up and got a jump ball situation out of it...if Kyrie would've closed the deal that would've been yet another IMPACT play...

Dude will be key for us for the next several years. Simply UNTRADEABLE, IMO.

I know what you are trying to say, but the way you expressed it is a contradiction.  If they are awesome passes why do they result in turnovers?

The last two sentences are pretty good examples of trolling. See to it you do not do it again.

Marcus is generally a good but not great passer. He definitely develops tunnel vision as to where he wants to go with the pass sometimes, especially on the break. His two underhand softball lob passes across the court the other day where Rozier and Brown saved turnovers only because they are long and can jump and that horrid over the shoulder, no look to nobody in the lane are prime examples of the bad passes he made just for extra showmanship.

The fans don't want the extra showmanship, they want tough defense, good offense and wins. Just make the right pass the right way that leads to points. That's all the fans want.

Well...it was the truth because why keep attacking and belittling your best assets. If they spread it around to the real problems I probably might not even feel the need to post.
