If he is worried about his stats, then he shouldn't be the last player to wear #11.

I say this as no joke but I think it's To help kyrie pad his stats. I feel like coaches know some players care about their stats..  That's the only explanation. Or maybe as practice running plays in real game situations for film sessions

I think so too. Same goes for Rozier who makes extra minutes when the Celtics have a big lead.

lol who are you gonna play then? Our deep bench esp when williams is not dressed is Yabu, Wanamaker, Ojeleye. Can you play just 3 guys?!

I swear you and these people that says Kyrie is stat padding or Brad put him in for no reason are just looking at things and finding stuff to fit their own narratives. And its not surprising its the same people.

I kind of agree with this. I was initially confused why we still had rotation players in then I realized we just don’t have a huge end of bench.

I am not connected to this and glad we're winning.

Depends if your definition of decided is a 12 pt lead with 7 mins to go.

Decided is 20 at the 4 minute mark.

But thanks for playing.

Playing what?

It was a 12 point lead with 7:30 to go in the 4th and a minute later Kyrie and Al were subbed back in. As for the 20 points with 4 to go, maybe by that time Brad was ready to take him out but didn't want to burn a timeout. Then he tweaked his shoulder. It's half of one two fourths of the other.

I agree that starters need to be preserved but it's easy to second guess in hindsight.

At 4 minute mark up by 20, you call timeout and pull your best player.

But this is not the first time Brad has failed to do this. He did it last year as well.

You do know we only have 12 players suited up a game, right?

And we have to put 5 out there to end it in blowouts.

Who should be in there for Rozier?

Doesn't matter that much, but it's always Rozier who stays in. Just seems like Stevens keeps Rozier in to give him some extra minutes and opportunities to score to keep him satisfied.

Of Baynes, Hayward, Smart, Morris, Brown, Tatum, Horford, Irving, and Rozier... which one would you say should always get the garbage time? The second guy can be whomever, but Rozier makes sense.

He’ll always be one of the two in this scenario.

We were only up 12 as we neared the 5-minute mark. Then Kyrie hit a jumper with just under 5 to go.

I don’t think a 17-point lead with 4:30 to go is automatic. I mean two quick threes and you could be talking about an 11-point game with just under 4 minutes on the clock.

This wasn’t a 30-point coast game like you’re making it out to be.

Yeah, he tweaked his shoulder in what proved to be an easy win. Wouldn’t hang this on anyone but just chalk it up to bad luck. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and even if they rest him next game to be cautious, big deal.

A 12 point lead is only 4 possessions with three pointers, so I think it was fine for him to be in.   This is not the old nba and three pointers mean it is easier to get back into the game.   In short, it is clear the OP does not know when a game is decided and that is it.

Is that what all the other brilliant coaches do?  I sure haven’t noticed it.

Come on man, this is second guessing at its finest.  Players play and sometimes they get hurt.  It’s not like this was a triple overtime game with kyrie playing 50 minutes or something.  He only played around 30 so need to micromanage that situation.  Nothing wrong with letting kyrie play it out in that situation.

This is not what happened in this game, so does this really matter. Be a man admit your wrong and quit pretending we were up by a lot and using the above scenario that does not apply to this up.

420 mark Celtics up by 17.

340 mark Celtis up by 20.

Personal attacks don't change the facts.

Right, because we've never seen 20 point leads get wiped out in just minutes before.  ::)

You miss the point. Kyrie is our best player, and he is injury prone. I would put him in a glass case until the playoffs, if I was Brad.

By the way, when was the last time we blew a 20 point lead with four minutes left?
